Finally upgraded from my old Launch X431 V+ and wow — what a difference. This PRO3 V+ Elite is lightning fast thanks to the Android 10 system and octa-core processor. Topology mapping is in full color and actually makes sense the first time you look at it. I love that it comes with 2 years of free updates and the J2534 programming capability is a game changer just used it to reprogram a Ford PCM last week). The 10.1-inch screen is bright even in direct sunlight and the battery easily lasts a full day in the shop. Bluetooth VC connects instantly and l've walked over 60 feet away with zero dropouts. Life-Saver for Semi Truck Diagnostics! I bought this scanner after persistent EGR/DPF issues with my semi post-repairs. It's been a game changer. The compact design with its secure-hold case makes it perfect for roadside use,though I wish the screen were slightly bigger (still perfectly readable). Check engine light came on in my truck, ordered this device from a YouTube recommendation. Super easy to use, plugged it in, it gave the code and a description of fault (very minor leak in fuel vapor system). It asked if I wanted to clear the fault, I did, and all has been good now for last 3 months! Device paid for itself (and then some) with that one use! There are much fancier devices out there for more money, and much worse out there for more money (like harbor freight devices), this device gives a great bang for your buck. Color screen, gives fault code AND description of error, and lets your reset fault after repairs (if repair needed).

So far so good. This is my 3rd launch x431. All of them have been pretty different. People who buy this need to know the j2534 pass through has to be used from a laptop. You cannot program new ECU, TCM on Chevy through android based tablet. Has to be windows based. It took a few hours to figure out how to download the software for the j2534 pass through on the computer. It wasn’t as simple as it should be. Also it should be noted that if you need tech support, this is not the place to buy this scanner. These are Chinese market and Launch USA will not help with this scanner. If you buy the American version (exact same tool) you’ll be able to get tech support on the phone quickly and efficiently but the US version is double the cost. This is my first scanner with Topology maps and it’s pretty cool.

The X431 V+ elite delivers factory level bidirectional, ECU coding, online programming, full topology, 60 service functions, and proper J2534/ Dolby pass through with FCA autoauth ready. 10.1 inch tablet is fast and responsive, builds quality crushes tools twice the price. Two years of update include , expandable to scope/ADAS/TPMS. It’s legitimately the most capable scanner under $1000 I’ve ever touched. Small shops and serious enthusiasts. End the search here.
