This scanner is amazing. Used the system scan on a 2020 Mercedes GLE that came in with a mess of warning lights. The screen showed me a map of all the car's computers, and the ones near the trunk were dead. It only took me couple minutes to figure out the wire got pinched back there, instead of checking every single part. Saved me a lot of work. The coding is where this thing makes me money. Swapped some halogen headlights for LEDs on a 2018 BMW X5- jumped into settings, inform the car the new lights were there, and turned off that annoying auto stop-start while I was at it. Also grabbed a used computer from a junkyard for a 2019 VW Jetta, copied the info from the old one, and uploaded it to the new one. Car fired right up. No dealer trip, no crazy fees. Does the basics great. Many reset functions provide a tailored solution for most tricky problems in repair shops. The big screen is easy to read even with grease on my fingers. It doesn't freeze up when I'm looking at data, and the battery lasts my whole 8- hour shift. Cut my work time in half. Get this Launch Padvii Elite scanner if you're a mechanic. ... show more

I bought this as an upgrade to my current scanner. After using this for a few weeks on a daily basis I can definitely say I'm very happy with this. This scanner lets me get much farther and more in depth in the diagnostics than my old scanner did. The large screen makes it very nice because you can view multiple things all at the same time. I love that it's Android because I can use it as a scanner and then flip to a different tab and look up codes on google or pull up a web browser to search for fuse diagrams while tracking down a problem. That will definitely say that. I was very surprised when the scanner showed up with what equates to two small suitcases to hold the scanner, and all the accessories that it came with. It was also a nice touch that it comes with a wall charger, a cigarette lighter charger, and the ability to hook the scanner directly to a car battery to charge. I've tried Xtool, Foxwell and Snapon over the years, but the LAUNCH X431 PAD VII Elite is on another level. I bought it after my old scanner couldn't pull codes on a no-start. My first real test was a 2014 Mercedes E350. The Launch X431 scanner read the TCU fault instantly and let me run online SCN coding-something my Foxwell flat-out refused. Save me a $450 dealer trip right there. Then a buddy's 2008 VW Passat kept throwing a fake coolant warning. Old VM modules are a nightmare, but the topology map showed exactly which ECU was dropping out. The 13.3"screen is crisp, battery lasts all day, and bidirectional tests (EVAP, Windows, doors) just work. Menu's a bit cluttered, but at $2,499 for 200-plus brands and 60-plus resets, it's the best scanner I've ever owned. Definitely a great investment. ... show more

Actually being a self-maintainer not a fan of repair stores, I already have one basic tool CRP123 but need more professional device, which can help me read/clear codes, view freeze & live data and some more practical special functions etc., and with it, I don’t need a second tool to reset SAS and do DPF regen.
