This LAUNCH X431 tool is very capable it programs most keys and runs smoothly. The seller support was responsive to my questions and were extremely helpful. First, you should have a NASTF account to unlock the IMMO features. The set up is a bit of a hassle, but trust me, it’s totally worth it. I successfully programmed new replacement keys for BMW and VW when paired with the X-prog3. I was able to scanned a 2016 BMW 328i with a ABS warning, and found a wheel speed sensor DTC and was able to graph live data for all four sensors. Super clear on that 8-inch touchscreen. And I did a throttle body relearn on a 2020 Honda Civic after a cleaning - used “throttle matching” in like two taps, and it walked me through it. ... show more

I bought this tool to clone my own car's ecm. The old one had a memory checksum problem and when trying to find a replacement, all I found were only units with the immobilizer removed. I wanted to have the car as original as possible. When i tried to clone the ecm, the scanner "informed" me that i have to join the NASTF and pay extra in the "Mall" application in order to access that function.... In order to join NASTF you have to be have proof of employment as someone that works in the automotive industry or own a business myself. In other words, you are paying a premium price for a scanner that would only allow you to use the most basic functions unless you are willing to pay extra. Absolute waste of money. You may as well buy a less expensive unit or get the alternative software that allows you to perform the cloning without having to jump try hoops... ... show more

This device has a lot of good features and functions and i am gonna get the same kind for a replacement. However i am just disappointed about the customer service and run around and that's the reason i am rating it at a 3 star! My problem with returning the device is that when i attempted activating the device, it showed that the device was already activated under someone else' profile and name. So apparently it was a returned device and at new as described. I did not mind keeping it if only i had tech support or customer service to remove the initial profile bound to the VCI and activate the device in my name. However, i ran out of patience awaiting support for this and i cant wait to buy another and get going with my ECU cloning and key programing. If you have used one of these before, it is a no turning back or away from staying with Launch and just upgrading over time. ... show more

This is a great kit for mechanics. Impressive full-system diagnostics and key programming. It does things I didn't know about. Easy to use. It's already paid for itself. I have used it on a few vehicles to PIN code, programmed fobs, cleared the immobilizer fault codes. Without it, I might have to contact a locksmith or send it to a repair dealer (costing much more). It doesn't just do key programming - I've used it for full-system scans on Ford F-150s, Toyota Tacomas, and BMW 3 series. The rest functions all done in a few taps on the bright, rugged touchscreen. Yes it only comes with two years free software updates, I didn't hesitate at all. Because it's so much better than others only offer one year free upgrades. If you're serious about diagnosing cars efficiently, do yourself a favor and grab the LAUNCH X431 IMMO PLUS. You won't regret it - and either will your bottom line. Highly recommend! ... show more

I did have one concern after receiving it, but I reached out to the supplier and they resolved the issue very quickly with excellent customer service. The tool itself feels very solid and well-built. The Bluetooth range is impressive—I was able to connect from over 25 feet away from the vehicle I was working on. It also has great programming features and performs very well for my needs. Bought this unit as an amazon returned, like new order. Scanner module was registered to person who had originally returned it. Amazon needed to reach out to (Launch Chinese company) in order to clear registration. I got a number for LAUNCH based in china. Put international calling plan on phone to reach out to them but my efforts were futile. I did manage to reach tech support through email. LAUNCH asked for serial number to VCI unit and then stated that I needed to reach out to original buyer. This is impossible for obvious reasons to privacy etc. American Launch company was very helpful in providing email to the Chinese sector but had to control over resets from out of country units. Long story short, If you buy this LAUNCH Chinese car scanner used, be prepared for it to be locked and registered making it completely useless. I hope Amazon recognizes this huge error and sends all these used units back to china Launch or at least tests them before sending out. Also, Chinese customer service is horrible and they will do the absolute least for you possible and take several days at a time to respond to each email and they NEVER answer the phone. BEWARE!!!! 0 stars Update: Launch has reached out to me and offered support. I have already returned unit but appreciate them giving me a few options to make things right. ... show more
