Got this as a replacement for a Topdon that I absolutely loved for 2 years. Now the 2 year free updates are coming to an end and the fee will be 249.00 for each year after the free updates end. Figured in the long run, I'd be better off getting a new tool with lifetime updates. I also wanted to move into the 21st century and get a bluetooth cordless scan tool to cut the OBDII cord. I never knew what I was missing. The cord never bothered me in the past, but it will now. Searched around and found this K8Pro with free lifetime updates. It seemed to be the equal of my old scan tool, but had the cordless bluetooth . Fit my personal vehicles with all the functionality I would need for them. Will work for 99% of the vehicles I work on. Was pleased to find that the user interface was basically the same as my old one. It booted up and registered fine and initial updates were downloaded. Must be a fairly new production as there were very few updates to bring it up to date .No trouble connecting to my network. I noticed this tool is about 25 percent faster than my old one. That's an unexpected bonus. Entered my passcode provided in the box with the tool and it connected straight away. I had a little trouble connecting to my Auto Auth account. This tool is not listed in the drop down menu to register a new tool to the account. Searched You tube and found someone that had the same problem. He advised to use the Thinkcar brand and it worked great. Connects to my personal vehicle and auto locates the vin. It takes about 10 seconds to lock into the vin and start the scan. I looked at some modules, tried the bi-directional features , and ran some graphs. I'll be happy with this one. Live data is all I expected it to be. No surprises. Great product, very easy to use with fluid software. There was no lagging or issues everything transitioned and worked perfectly. Reading and testing vehicles of any variety. This is a very useful tool to change parameters of the vehicle, like tire pressure monitoring, and things of that nature. Able to check and erase any type of diagnostic trouble code as well as test things like fuel system issues. I found it perfect for my jeep as it also helps straighten the steering wheel when we make changes in our suspension. It came with a variety of adapters for just about any type of vehicle and application You would need as well as a very nice case to carry everything. The huge display monitor is easy to see and very easy to use. The touchscreen works flawlessly. This would be a great tool for a shop, or even a home mechanic like myself that works on a variety of vehicles. This will be very useful very often, and will pretty much pay for itself not having to inquire mechanic charges, which are now reaching $150 an hour. Connectivity to the Wi-Fi was very easy, once I did that I went through and updated everything which took a couple of hours which is no different than when you get a new cell phone or something of that nature that has not been connected but once that was done, the updates are minimal and quick thereafter. This product will work on diesels and gasoline vehicles, which is very useful for the home mechanic or a shop since most of us own a diesel truck, as well as a car or other regular vehicles. We tested this out on an 09 Silverado diesel, a 2011 Ford diesel, as well as an 09 Mitsubishi Galant, and even a jeep wrangler all of which gave us great information and erased any old lingering trouble codes. Great price on this product with most of the high-end competitors coming in at twice the price or more it gives great value on a comparative product. You also have the ability to hook up different accessories to this available at additional purchase like an endoscope for checking inside of the motor or anywhere you might need that. Very great and useful tool. With Bidirectional functionality, you do not need to tear things apart they can be tested electronically like opening and closing of the sunroof and things of that nature. K8 Pro by KINGBOLEN is wonderful, Access to all the cars you want to scan for mechanics or home workshops, adding AUTOAUTH makes this scanner a Pro level powerful automotive guide. Troubleshooting a repair code couldn’t be easier with links to similar faults with online solutions others have posted. Works best with wifi or hotspot to get online repair solutions. All repairs and scans help the database for future repairs. Long battery life allows me to scan and troubleshoot all day, hard durability housing lets me play rough, not scared to place it with my wrenches. (I added screen protectors). It can be linked other useful tools like a TPMS programmer for tires and oscilloscope for probing injection/hall sensor signals. Since there are no annual subscription for this tool, you can invest that money into AUTOAUTH to unlock JEEP, CHRYSLER, FORD, NISSAN, CHEVY and have dealer access to reading NEW automobiles previously limited to dealer access. Bluetooth scanner allows me to read the car while doing a visual inspection of the car on the lift. DTC resets, and throttle body relearn for all the hot turbo cars. i have been saving money to buy this scanner . i got it around christmas time , worked well in my own van , tried to hook up to honda could not connect and has never came on or charged since then . i have chatted < sent pics sent them everything they wanted , now no response in any form from kingbole. ... show more

Once received and registered, I realized the software used is the same as my discontinued Harbor Freight Zurich ZRPro from 7 YEARS AGO. It seems the software is China copied (shared?) between brands like Autel, Launch, and others, but with slightly altered main screen interfaces. I scanned each of my cars with the Kingbolen and it matched exactly to my Zurich in readout displays and feature layout. On my 2012 Volvo it had limited capability. So, I factory reseted, repackaged it like new and returned the next day. All these tablet like Android units in the $400 to $600 range are capable scanners only, some good features, and somewhat of a value. Any error codes found will send you through Google for answers. Something you can do with a $20 scanner and the internet on your phone. Know the limitations before buying. Just pick the least expensive one. ... show more
