This is a great scanner for the price of 150.00. It's small and compact but packs alot of diagnostic for the value. This is a general scanner that works for most makes and models post 1996. It scans almost all systems. This scanner works great for about 90% info that you might need for your vehicle. Great if you have a check engine light or if you need to reset the code for your abs or various other reseting functions that are required after changing parts of newer vehicles. Itll give you a read out that you would generally need to spend 200 for at the dealer or the shop. The media could not be loaded. This tool is a great little step up from the classic engine code reader. While it keeps simplicity and it's easy to use, you will get full functions of code reader + ability to scan other control modules like ABS, Transmission or Airbag.

Quick overview. Do not buy. If your mechanically inclined enough to want something better then an O’Reillys or AutoZone scanner this is not it. If you looking for a simple code reader this is very over priced. I purchased and have hooked up to a couple vehicles. It will read codes and tell you the code and what is likely the cause but wouldn’t suggest trusting 100%. Some vehicles it offers more info on then others. All of this can be done with a basic code reader from auto part store for 100$ less. It offers a website where you can update and improve but website is not in English as a stock site and do not offer ease of use for people if your looking to update. Has prices for options in the device when hooked to car so I’m assuming it wants more money. It does have some extra detailed features but for the price I’d highly suggest anything else. I got it on sale for 143$ and still think I over paid. I’m not a professional mechanic but I am mechanically inclined enough to rebuild transmissions and engines. Was hoping this would be a nice tool for my diesel truck but very dissatisfied. Doesn’t have any info on individual cylinders. It does show fuel rail pressure but other wise it covers what you see on your dash. I have noticed it working differently with manufacturers. Chevy didn’t seem worth it. BMW had reasonable info but not great. Nissan was meh mostly same as Chevy. It could be that I have to pay for more sections to work and give me more info but this is not what is advertised in the images for all the sections of your car it can connect to. I received this today and tried to register and update the software. The software looks like it was created in the 1980s (terrible) 0 out of 5. I called the Launch Customer support and the first thing they asked is where did you buy it. I said amazon and right away the support tech we will give no support to this product, you need to get it through amazon or return it to amazon. I finally found out all the updates where on the device but they did not program any message to tell you it is up to date. Just and empty list that bombs after 30 seconds. I did run on my 2012 Silverado. For GM an no auto identify for GM vehicles so I had to manually enter it. The results is ODBC2 has a small emissions leak and the GM showed a large emissions leak. Interesting and helpful. I then ran it on my ran it on my wife's 2010 Nissan Maxima and it identified 3 transmission codes that the ODBC2 did not identify. This is good information. So in summary if these manufacturer codes are correct and it helps me in fixing the issues, it is money well spent. Updating / registering is terrible and buggy. The normal usage is slow and the auto vehicle identification doesn't not work well. Update: I decided to keep the unit. It did provide me enough live information and manufacturer information that my low cost ODB2 tester did not pickup. I still give the software update process and Launch customer support a 0 out of 5 but I do not buy new model year cars very often and updating the software will be rare. ... show more
