I am a BMW diagnostician that uses many scan tools throughout the day, daily. I added one of these to my arsenal to not only use but compare against my others. I am very surprised at what it can do, no kidding some of my other scan tools are ten times the price of this one and they are head to head similar on features. What got me the most was having an X3 come in and had all my regular scan tools busy/in use however I needed to code the lift gate control unit to the car, so I said why not try the Launch. This was an F chassis vehicle, and it successfully coded the unit to the car no problem and quickly. I do really love the tool and working with it, my only gripe is that the cable could be longer. But it does not change my review because I have OBD extension cords and with those it was easy to use it even underneath the car when I was checking transmission fluid temperature while doing a transmission service. The updates are not expensive, and are done yearly. You can also download modules to add other car lines if you wish. All in all, good tool.

Its buggy software, unreliable performance, and stark contrast to other, more professional-grade options, make it a disappointing and ultimately useless purchase. Save yourself the headache and invest in a more reputable coder. This one is best avoided if you value your time, money, and the wellbeing of your BMW's software.

The media could not be loaded. Very good and easy to use, I always use ISTA to scan BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce. It always takes me a lot of time to connect everything, wires connected to the internet and the vcmi unit, start the notebook etc. This scanner simply makes everything faster. Easy to update and available in multiple languages, I'm using it in Portuguese. Also works in different brands for affordable price.

I don’t write reviews, so I’ll keep it simple. This scanner is awesome. It has everything I need for a fraction of the price and once you get through the software updating process, the applications are seamless. I specifically got this so I can calibrate my transfer case following a fluid change. This scanner does exactly that and much more. Applicable vehicle, BMW.

Got me codes and described issues according to a lookup. Maybe a cheaper one would do the same? Dunno. Supposedly it can reprogram but I have not idea how. I think you might need to upload files to it. Not trivial; doesn’t give you a menu of options, for example.
