I have used Launch scanners in the past and have really liked them. What I noticed when I first took the device out of the box was how lightweight it was. At the end of the day, I appreciate the light weight of this. It is also robust on the outside, so it should hold up to a small drop or two pretty well. As far as the scanning software, it is already preloading with many manufacturers. Upon hooking it up to my Nissan Titan, it found the VIN very quickly. My truck does not have the oil reset feature, but I like knowing that this is available to use. I highly recommend this scanner if you are in the market for a budget friendly device that will give you great results.

Bought this to reset a steering angle sensor on a 2010 Rogue we bought. Took all of about 2 minutes to reset. Works great, awesome screen.

I'll start by saying so for I am pleased with the purchase. Upon receiving the tool I immediately updated it, which was easy to do following the supplied instructions. The functionality of the scanner is there. The interface will take some getting use to since I am use to the autel interface. So for I have pulled the codes from a 02 f150 (DTC), pulled ABS codes from a 06 expedition, and ABS codes from a '10 Chevy equinox. All worked great. I have yet to use any of the reset functions, (oil, SAS, battery) but plan to. The only issue I have come across so far is on the 02 f150, the Creader read significantly less on board monitors then the autel. But all in all it is a great scan tool to add to my arsenal.

Obsolete? Not supported, now?! Received this, and followed the quick start to the letter, despite what felt like a lack of specifics. The update file referenced, could not be found. Tried at least six times, and three times, got a "ban region" message. Oh, I found where they'll gladly sell the scan tool to you, but it had no support. Called the customer service number, and got a contradiction of messages. "We're open from 8am till 8pm EST, and, "our office is currently closed." I called at 6:25pm. So, what gives? I even wasted 15 minutes, watching a video, showing how to update the scanner with a file I could never access. Wasted my money, my time! Returning scan tool, and writing this review with very poor report. If it's you, Amazon, selling obsolete products, you better get them out of your inventory! I'm already going to avoid anything from this alleged, "well known company", now. They get a big black mark against their credibility with me!

Needed to do a Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) Service Recalibration after replacing deteriorated steering wheel coupler on my 2010 Kia Forte. The Launch CR629 Scan Tool easily performed the SAS recalibration and cleared the "EPS" fault light on dashboard. The EPS light goes on after most work on a steering column. Excellent easy reset process with the tool. Critical Note: When performing an update on the tool's Software (recommended), the white side of Micro Memory Card faces up when removing/inserting into the CR629 Scan Tool but goes in the USB adapter with the white side face down (ie., opposite direction). This fact is not noted in instruction manual Software Update Procedure.

Product description was not thoroughly clear about compatibility with ABS/SRS systems in older model cars. So, I was not completely surprised when it did not work on my 2001 Saab 9-3 SE. However, OBD-II functions did work as expected. Overall, I was impressed with the device's quality and functionality. Some documentation referring to web access was outdated. The direct link provided in the manual for downloading software updates for this model was not current. Although, finding the download didn't prove to be difficult. The update feature worked well. I did email support when I could not successfully interact with the ABS/SRS components and they responded by the next business day to confirm it was not compatible "with such an old car." Free refund made returning the product easy. Therefore, even though it did not satisfy my needs, I still give the product a positive review. I would only recommend confirming compatibility with older vehicles if you want to access extended/advanced functions beyond standard OBD-II.
