We have three of these because they are so effective! It is not hot to the touch, which is awesome because I have a toddler. It does keep the room a comfortable temperature.     • Really like it except for the noise. Pros outweigh cons.
First of all, "bladeless" does not necessarily "fanless." There is such a thing as a squirrel cage fan, which I suspect is what is in the base of the heater to move air. This is not some magic noiseless heater that moves air through it with magnetic waves or some other sci-fi technology. This heater definitely makes noise. I don't perceive it as particularly loud, but the frequency is annoying. Thankfully I've deployed it on a safe floor space with enough barrier between me and it so the sound is muffled and I don't notice it. Also, it does not memorize it's settings. I run space heaters on low to medium and rarely on high. This heater always is set on high when it is turned on and has to manually be set lower every time. Other heaters can be set to low and remain on low. But I'm glad I bought it because it has a very small footprint on the floor and puts out its heat significantly above the floor. It is tall enough so that I can change the controls on top without having to bend over, and the carry handle is conveniently places so it's easy to move around. Most of the weight is in the base so it seems very hard to knock over. I've used the timer function late at night just to provide a few hours of heat when my house gets to its coldest. That's a nice feature too. Finally, it looks pretty cool as space heaters go. ... show more

Great heater. I don’t find it too noisy. Heats the room very well. I run it while I’m sleeping and turn it off during the day. When I come home, the room a very comfortable temperature. I haven’t had it very long so I cannot attest to its durability or longevity. Everything else has been fine so far. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

Something was not right. There was a burning odor emitting from the heater. Our air filter in the other room was working overtime trying to deal with it. We put on the ceiling fans, and opened windows but the odor continued. Finally we decided to return the unit before we were asphyxiated.

My home uses fuel oil and a boiler for heat, and with rising gas prices, I was trying to cut down on my expenses by closing my spare room and using supplemental heat from an electric space heater. I really like the design and aesthetics of this Lasko bladeless heater. It made a nice breeze of warm air and helped to circulate the air around the room, so there's no cold spots. However, it's just too loud! I had to turn up my TV and even people on the phone could hear the fan from 10 feet away.     • A great space heater with integrated safety features
Picked one of these up right before some really cold weather (for Texas) with which we knew our central heat pump would struggle. In combination with a different space heater placed on the other side of the house, we were able to maintain a comfortable temperature. We have been very pleased with the integrated safety features. The external portions of the heater do not get hot. Our two cats did some initial sniffing around when we first set it up, but quickly lost interest and largely now ignore it.
