  • Worth every penny!
I bought one of these last year and I still have it and it's still like brand new. I finally put this one that I just ordered together and it's just as sturdy as the first one. It has everything ypu need to put it together. These runs also hold really well in pretty high winds or at least the ones I bought did and the craziest part is i didnt even anchor mine down (please anchor yours down just in case. Don't be like me be better! Lol). The only complaint I have is the tarp that comes with these is a little cheap. The tarp for the run I bought last year just tore a month ago. In my opinion considering that's the only problem I've had out of the run, it's definitely worth the money! ... show more

  • Good for chicken run
First must say, this is delivered in 3 boxes. I got a normal square box and a long heavy box first day. Second day I got the 3rd and final box (long). First thing I noticed was the poor welds. I'd say 60% of the joints had a big gap with only a few weld dots holding them together. I think only 3 joints were fully welded. The rest were somewhere in-between. They seemed sturdy, but I didn't like it. I set this up by myself. Easy to lay the pieces out and clip them together. I set it up next to my current chicken run, for extended grazing area. Took me maybe an hour for me to set all poles up to my liking. Very flimsy and wobbly at this point. The door and door frame definitely took the longest. The chicken wire is the cheap unsturdy kind, where it's thin wire covered in a green plastic coating, and easily bendable. That makes it easier to put on, but beware if you have any sort of predators around. Put hardwire cloth around bottom edge at least. I pulled chicken wire up from the existing run and maneuvered it to cover 2/3 of the top of this new run. Then the cheaper wire that came with it I used to cover the sides, fan 1ft out from bottom, and remaing roof. After that, I had maybe 9ft of wire left. I don't think that would have covered the entire thing had it been a stand alone structure. I used all the zip ties to hold it in place as I put wire fence on. I'm still to this day working on wrapping wire around the fence and poles where they meet, and the old and new chicken wire together, so there's no gaps. But after putting chicken wire on, I noticed the 2 shorter sizes of run, where the 2 poles meet together in middle, were pulled up at and angle slightly. The short tent stakes that come with this are practically useless to hold it down. Also, after putting wire on, the door is slightly askew so it hits on bottom pole when opened. I put black gardening cloth down around outside edge and put rocks on it. Since this sits on top of the chicken wire I had fanned out that extra 1ft beyond poles, it makes the entire structure a little more secure. The tarp that comes with it is nice. Easy to put on with the elastic bungee and ball loops. I put 2 additional small tarps on for sun coverage. I ended up having to take off 2 of the horizontal poles so you could easily walk from old run into the new run. I wish I could take off 2 more of the middle poles, but I think that would make it too unstable. Anyway, $200+ $60 shipping is still cheaper than buying more wood and screws to build my own add on. So if you're looking for a quicker cheaper option, this should do. Not perfect, but perfectly usable. ... show more

  • Really a nice chicken run over all
Great product for the price. The majority of the frame goes together easily. The door however is a horribly engineered mess and could be designed better - plan on it taking a bit of time. Also stretching the chicken wire is of course tedious- but let’s face it anything involving chicken wire is. Plan on buying extra zip ties as they do not send enough in the box. We also purchased heavy duty “u” shaped stakes to pin the chicken run to the ground. Our chickens are happy and safe and have plenty of room to move around which was important to us on days we can’t let them free range due to hawks and other predators. I recommend the product it really is a good chicken run just plan on assembly being a bit of a chore. ... show more

  • Home sweet home
This makes an excellent chicken run since ours can’t free range. We put it right up to the coop and the little door for the chickens opens into the run. We reinforced it with hardware cloth and a corrugated metal apron to predator-proof it. The tarp that comes with it gives them nice shade. It was easy to assemble, but the zip ties didn’t hold up well so we got better quality ones to secure the tarp. It’s big enough for my 6’ 3” tall son to walk in. • Good, for the price
We needed to expand our chicken set-up to add in our new ducks. I designed a new coop and run and then priced it our at the lumber yard... then I decided to look for a solution that actually fit in the budget. This is an aluminum frame with light duty mesh and even lighter duty zip ties. I am not sure how much cost it would add to include good zip ties, but it is an easy fix to go get heavier duty ones. The mesh is easy to work with because it is light. If they used heavier chicken wire it would be harder to work with and more expensive. The reality is that we can't shop based on price and expect the highest quality. What this is: a light duty, temporary solution to solve our immediate need. What this is not: a permanent solution. The sun shade is a very light plastic tarp that is somehow not waterproof. And there is no way that you can tarp this in a Minnesota winter and expect it to carry any snow load. Also, they send these tiny metal spikes to anchor it to the ground that have zero chance of holding it in place if a chicken sneezes. Luckily I had a set of 6" ground auger anchors. You will want one anchor per section, so mine needs 8. Finally, I am not sure how much protection this would provide from a determined, larger predator like a coyote. There is no way this would hold a dog much larger than a yorkie. Pros: * Price * Easy to assemble Cons: * Quality commensurate with price * Needs better anchors and zip ties * Directions are poor ... show more

Frame clicks in easy and has instructions however, the wire part does not. It's a lot of guess work with the wire of the coop. Honestly made it not worth getting. I was really happy with the frame being so easy to assemble strongly disappointed in lack of instruction for the other half
