Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a sturdy, well-made chicken coop that's easy to assemble and offers a comfortable space for a small number of chickens, this product could be a great choice. However, if you plan on housing closer to the maximum advertised capacity, you might need to consider expanding the space or looking for a larger option.

  • Great starter setup even with some flimsy materials.
Color: Dark Gray
We have 4 hens and placed this easy to assemble coop under a 10'x20' fenced in and covered area. The hens sleep up on the top of the middle section since we have it covered. They knock off those bars inside the houses and don't really perch there ever. We move it around the yard with the fenced in cover and it has probably a little faster wear because of that. We get compliments on the look of it. The hens like their boxes. Paint has worn in several areas in and out and some stapled parts have come apart but easy enough to just reattach and reinforce. The roofs are good quality and don't have leaking issues. The trays slide out so to hose down the inside and outside it is no problem. The dividers slide into slots that are not very sturdy, some spots broke beyond repair but the divider can still be propped up with what is left there. ... show more

  • This is not I now have to build a proper coop and yard. $500 down the drain.
Color: Natural Wood
4 to 6 hours to assemble. Excellent room. Cedar is great. Very brittle though. It is not made to last year's outside. Chicken need 16 square feet each. This coop is made for 4 adult chickens, not 8 as advertised.

  • Built in conditions OSHA would describe as ‘absolutely not'...plus hatered for piece #7
Color: Natural Wood
This took me three hours, which is honestly a miracle because I decided to build it during what felt like a Category 2 storm disguised as a sunny day… with a three‑year‑old assistant who contributed nothing but commentary. The boxes came with pieces numbered 1–21, so I laid them out in order (makes things so much easier...I have a touch of OCD.) Trying to hold everything up alone while drilling was a full‑body workout I did not sign up for. Piece #7 almost sent me into early retirement. The instructions made it look like it belonged under the roof, but no — it’s a perch that goes inside the house. I learned this after the roof was already installed, so that was cute. The only real issue: (hence 4 stars) the fence with the two swinging doors. The notch for the lever was cut on the wrong side, so the right door was basically useless. I’ll fix it myself later when I regain the will to live. Once assembled, though? Chef’s kiss. The chickens moved in immediately and acted like they’d been upgraded to a two‑story condo. ... show more

  • Worst instructions and wood is cheap. Way too small for any normal sized chickens.
Color: Natural Wood
This is super bad, it so skinny 2 can barely fit next to each other. The other review about the wood being like balsa wood, true! It is so hard to put together, absolutely the worst instructions and bit only that the one we got was manufactured wrong so the parts were never going to go together. Do not buy! ... show more

  • Perfect, well made chicken coops to start babies in
Color: Dark Gray
I bought this coupe design because I had 17 baby chicks that I started in my closet to keep them safe and my husband put this together in just a few hours and he said it was well packed and everything was numbered and the directions were amazing and my chicks were so happy to get into this two house set up with lots of room between the two houses to run around and explore. It was such a good price and so well-made and I think we will get many years of use out of it. When they are big enough to go out on their own on our property, they will return to it to lay their eggs since they will be familiar with it , I highly recommend this ... show more

  • We like this coop a lot
Color: Natural Wood
My kids and I put this together and it was easy to assemble and they helped a lot with it, so very simple and light weight. Good coop all around

  • Great Chicken Coop
Color: Natural Wood
Great chicken coop for the $. Was a little difficult to put together but if you follow the directions it can be done. Took about 6 hours to assemble. Has a lot of little pieces. Very sturdy and nice to look at. The chickens love their coop and they started laying eggs the same day.

  • Good hut but build where you want it to stay
Color: Natural Wood
I purchased this for my flock and put it together in about 1.5 hours when it arrived. The wood is very thin, but seems to be ok for the moment. I have only had it for a couple of weeks though. I don't expect this hut to last anywhere near as long as my last one. I highly recommend building this hut where you want it to stay permanently as the ramps make it very hard to move without tearing one off or having 3 people to move it. It also has 4 nesting boxes but very little room for the chickens to be outside. Overall I would say an OK purchase for the money, but don't expect this to be a long term purchase. ... show more
