Bought this to make an outdoor enclosure for Guinea fowl. It’s a little smaller than I was hoping once actually set up, but that’s more my fault. The metal rods were covered in oil, which was totally fine for the purpose but caused the identifying stickers to come off. I had to rely on the pictures to figure out what goes where but it isn’t terribly difficult. Frame took me an hour or two to set up by myself, with figuring out the rods. Since this is an outdoor enclosure meant to keep fowl year round I’ll have to do predator proofing around the bottoms, sides, and door but that’s to be expected with any bought enclosure. Sturdy, but as others said expect to buy your own heavy duty zip ties as the ones they come with are flimsy at best, same for the stakes in the ground if you live in a high wind area. Overall totally worth the cost, just if you’re using this for a 24/7 chicken or fowl enclosure expect to need to reinforce it against predators (or pay the cost of possibly losing your birds). Another lock is also recommended since this is a flip up lock, which can be easy for animals to figure out sometimes. ... show more

I like everything about the pen. The shade tarp can act as a parachute, catching wind and raising the pen off the ground. Drive T-posts in the ground and wire the frame to the posts at the 4 corners to anchor the pen. Do this after all the chicken wire is installed.

Frame was quick and easy to install! (Watch placement of the holes, though). Netting however is time consuming and tedious, Along with zipties are extremely cheap and weak. Had hoped to have completed build over the weekend, but No luck. Had frames completed on 2 of them in a little over an hour. The rest, plan for the rest of the day and the most of the next to complete the install. Hopefully have my birds moved next weekend. Nice run for the chickens. Only two issues, first, the zip ties are cheap. You will need to buy better ones. Secondly, the holes in the brackets starting the curve on top were drilled wrong. Not an issue with me tho, I drilled them out and used nuts and bolts. Seemed to make the structure stronger.

It was pretty decent quality and not too difficult to assemble. Directions were just pictures… no words. But we figured it out. There are not many zip ties and they are very flimsy so I had to buy more heavy duty ones. I would definitely find a new latch or lock for the door. It kept the chickens in but not the predators out. Now the pen just sits in my yard empty😞 ... show more

    • Clarification on some instructions
1) The printed instructions show qty. 2 #5 poles......one has holes for the latch to attach to. Keep in mind if you have a preference for which way the door opens. The printed instruction also don't illustrate correctly how the latch attaches..see above. 2) You'll have to cut the small pieces from the roll yourself. Don't unroll the chicken wire expecting ready to install parts like I did. 3) It's a good idea to cut pieces a little long, say 4". You'll see why. There's enough chicken wire to do that( but not enough to make a 6' mistake.) The center post, and diagonal braces are good things to have that other runs don't. I'll echo the comment for needing more zip ties....using more especially low to the ground will provide assurance of less likely predator entry into the run. Additionally, the zip ties aren't real strong(compared to the thicker ones I use usually), so I'd think they'll need replacement in a few years(?) with constant sun exposure. ... show more

My chickens love their run. It's very sturdy. The frame was easy to put together. The worse part is putting the wire on. You will need more zip ties then what they send. Also we couldn't get the door to lock well. Over all definitely worth it.

We’re raising some Guineas - built a house next to it, this is perfect”flight” cage for the young birds. Easy access, super easy to assemble. Only con: needs a LOT more zip ties than it comes with to snug down the fencing.
