  • I'd give it 10 stars if I could
The chipper started on the first pull with every start and ran perfectly. I chopped up a huge pile of brush. I love the large and long feeding chute and that it sends the chips out in the same direction as the brush goes in. I can fit up to 3", but it's best not to chip anything more than 2". If you feed it too quickly, especially with large pieces it will stall out. It is a fantastic machine, especially for that price range. It was easy to assemble. It's very easy to maneuver and it's small enough that it doesn't take up much storage space. When I ordered this on September 4th 2023 I thought it was listed as $439. The invoice price was $470. Today, October 2nd 2023 it is now listed as $699. That seems like an awfully big price jump in such a short time. Maybe the price of the unit varies according to availability. It's now October of 2024 and I still love this little chipper. I've put loads of brush through it. It still starts on the first pull and runs fantastic. The only issue is the welds on the muffler broke so now the muffler wobbles around on the top of the muffler pipe. It's a great machine for the price and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Overall good machine
The only cons are 1. in the instructions it tells you time and time again to add oil. How much? Well don't overfill it it tells you. Would be nice to know how much oil to add rather then guessing. Otherwise the assembly is straight forward, starts easy and runs fine. Sips gas. The Ad says up to 3 inches, which is true, from a certain point of view. Three inches will fit into the chipping assembly and the first foot or so will be chipped, but if you don't pull the branch back. The motor will stall out. Easy to restart, but depending on what you are chipping could be annoying. Have chipped a standard truck bed full of chips so far with no real issues. -EDIT been using it for about three years now. No complaints. It still starts on the first couple of pulls. Have learned to slow down the bigger branches to keep from stalling. Have chipped probably a dozen truck beds full of chips. This unit is a trooper. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble. Started on the first pull.
This will get its first actual try later today, but everything was in the box and the instructions pretty clear. A list of tools needed would’ve saved me some steps. Basically you need a set of metric sockets and wrenches, plus a pair of pliers and needle-nosed for the cotter pins holding the wheels in place. IIRC, 10, 12, and 13mm will cover the bolts and nuts. It is heavy, and someone with limited strength should get help getting the parts out of the box and lifting the engine unit. I assembled the carriage, turned the engine over, bolted the carriage on top, then flipped it over as it’s a lot easier to shift the carriage around to line up the bolt holes than the engine unit. Update: This works very well and produces excellent mulch. There is a slight learning curve as to how best to feed material into it, but once you figure that out it makes short work of yard debris. Larger pieces require that you feed them slowly to give the knives time to work them down. You definitely need good leather gloves to protect your hands. Knit gloves may snag on the branches and could draw your hands into the chute. Same goes for loose clothing like long sleeves. Wear ear- and eye-protection. Branches with side shoots will be pulled into the chute more easily if you squeeze them down a bit first. ... show more

  • DONT BUY
I bought this thinking I was going to be able to chip up my yearly tree trimmings, boy was I wrong. I was using the chipper and all good, then I put a couple of 2" to twigs and the motor shaft twisted off, which left the chipper wheel free spinning inside and shearing off both blades. I have contact Landworks, they asked for picture so I sent them and have never heard from them since. I have included the pictures I sent them. UPDATE: I started have troubles with this in the last half of April 22. I have contacted the company and only got the run around be asked the same question repeatedly, Name, Address, Order number, what I need to fix it/whats wrong with it. On 6/28 I got a email that since I will not change my review on here once a get a tracking number for the parts, I would change it once I receive the parts. There is nothing they will do. The up side is that Amazon has refunded me the price of this chipper. So my do not buy ever review stands, as The company, Great Circle, which sells Landworks has the worst customer service. If you do buy from them, best of luck if anything goes wrong with it. Just so you know, I am one that does not usually write reviews of any kind. ... show more

  • Does what it's supposed to do!
I'm very happy with this chipper! Today was the first day I've used it and it did exactly what I needed it to do, including 3" branches. I topped around 15 to 20 trees in my backyard and needed a chipper for the clean up afterwards. I researched several chippers through reviews, videos, forums, etc. And came to the same conclusion that all chippers that says can handle up to 3" branches isn't necessarily true... so I thought!? I'll get back to this in just a moment. The box arrived in good shape. The instruction booklet was easy to follow putting it together. I took note from another reviewer that mentioned not to tighten the bolts down super hard as he had one snap off. It took all of 20 minutes to put it together. The only problem I had is that it was missing one bolt. I determined it fell out of the box during shipping as I found the washers in the box. This was NOT a seller forgetting to put the necessary parts in the box. It fired right up with no problems. I started feeding it with smaller branches and gradually worked up to larger branches. When I got to the 3" branches, I took another approach (based on what I didn't see in the reviews) and trimmed most of the smaller branches that was hanging off of it. From the reviews I read and watched on YouTube, most people was frustrated with the larger branches bogging it down and stopping the motor, or by jamming the chipper blades and having to unjam it. By trimming the smaller branches off the main stock it fit better through the small feeder hole where the blades are. I also hand fed the 3" branches by allowing only 6" to 10" at a time to be chipped, which in turn allowed the engine to catch up in between hand feeds. Yes it was a slower process, but not once did I have to restart the engine or unjam the blades. Finally thoughts; for the money, it's worth it if you have patience to feed the larger branches slowly with a little trimming here and there. I did look at the larger chippers the would do 4" to 6" branches (so they say), but didn't want to spend 4 or 5k for something that will see use maybe 3 or 4 times a year. I'll update my review if anything changes. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, chipper works fine.
Easy to assemble, starts with one pull. Seems very well made...heavy sheet metal...not flimsy. Does really well with pine branches; okay with hardwoods if you take your time. Makes short work of huge piles of branches. Very happy with it so far. Three month report: The chipper works fine. You have to take your time putting branches in, but it still makes quick work of a large pile of branches. One bolt that holds the discharge chute on is right next to the engine, and works loose constantly....very difficult to tighten properly. A minor issue but the placement of that bolt was not well thought out. For people saying they had carburetor problems, make sure you only use 100% pure gas (no ethanol). This is a must in all small engines. ... show more

  • Lot more powerful and durable than I thought.
I typically don't write reviews but felt compelled to do so. I was unsure about which mini chopper to buy, but knew I needed one after paying hundreds of dollars each year for folks to prune my trees and bushes and discard the debris. I landed on this one after reviewing several and it hasn't disappointed. Pros: Very reliable and starts with easy. It even ran for several hrs after I put chainsaw / barb oil in it vs. the recommended motor oil (I was a little excited when I 1st got it). It stalled on me a cpl times with the oil, but still was a work horse. After I replaced the oil it ran non-stop. Start - as I mentioned early, easy and consistent start. Cons: (not many and trivial) - sits lower than I though so I found myself bending over more to feed it than I thought I would (I'm 6ft) - Heavier than expected so mounting the engine onto the base takes a little effort -wheel base doesn't extend completely beyond the engine, thus the engine rubs against one wheel every time I move it, making moving it a bit of a hassle. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase though. ... show more
