  • Nice wall clock
Works good so far, looks great. As soon as I added the batteries and set the time zone, it started adjusting the clock to my time zone.

  • Great looking clock.
My old office clock bit the dust, literally by falling off the wall. The sheer volume of clocks to look at is somewhat overwhelming. My first criteria in a clock was looks, yes I wanted a good looking clock. And I wanted an atomic clock so I would avoid the bi-annual torture of trying to hang the clock back up, we all know the pain of attempting to match the itty bitty hole on the back of the clock to the nail on the wall. One dreads daylight savings day. The clock is quite sturdy, with a stylish look. I love that is its metal not plastic, not cheap looking at all. It's easy to read which for 66yo eyes is appreciated. I like the option to use more batteries for a longer life, I adore the larger, for lack of a better word, hole on the back. was able to hang it without drama. Oh happy day. ... show more

  • Still going with the original batteries
Great clock bought this July 2020, installed required batt. And still working with the same batteries. I adjust itself!

  • Clock Works
It does exactly what a clock is expected to do: Keep time accurately. After a few days to initially locate and synch with the Colorado master clock, it has kept time, matching what the clock on my desktop computer displays. I recently had to change the battery, but that is to be expected. We have four LaCrosse atomic clocks in our house, and they all perform admirably. ... show more

  • Excellent choice for the money
All in all, I'm very pleased with this clock. I have always preferred an analog wall clock and I do like an accurate time piece, so when my conventional quartz clock of many years finally died I decided to replace it with a radio controlled ("atomic") analog clock. I've owned a weather station manufactured by Lacrosse Technologies which includes a digital radio controlled clock for several years. I've never had a problem with it so I decided to try this analog clock from Lacrosse as well. It's size, neat aluminum trim, easy to read face, the Amazon price and free shipping were all factors in my decision. I've noticed that some reviewers were surprised at the size of this clock. It's described, marketed and sold as a 12 inch clock. If this concept presents a challenge to you then, before ordering, obtain a one foot ruler and look at it carefully. This is the size that the clock will be. Upon opening the box from Amazon I discovered that the clock was attached to it's packaging by two small screws through rubber shock absorbing washers. I've never seen this before, but approximately 15 seconds of work with a small screwdriver released the clock. This packaging seems to have been effective as the clock arrived in perfect condition. While waiting for the clock to be delivered I went to the Lacrosse website to look for the set up instructions. I received the clock in early May after Daylight Saving Time had already begun. After inserting the battery and setting the approximate time I placed the clock in a window at about 8 PM to see if it would pick up the radio signal and set itself precisely. The clock did set itself, but not to DST. The online instructions had said that it might take several days for this to happen. After waiting for three days it never did set to DST. Then I remembered seeing a white card packed with the clock. I retrieved that card and, lo and behold, it had the specific instructions for this particular clock, including the location of the DST switch, time zone setting and manual operation. After a quick reading, it took only a moment to set to the DST mode. That evening the clock set itself to the precise DST time without a hitch. Let this be a lesson for those who, like myself often "don't do manuals". Since I mounted the clock on the wall back in May it has been functioning well. It attempts to set itself nightly at 1 AM and again at 6 AM. Occasionally, when there is difficulty receiving the signal it gains one or two seconds. One time it took about five days to correct that. On one occasion, during a period of especially poor reception, it gained about three minutes for about three days. Other than that it keeps extremely accurate time. This past November when the time reverted to Standard Time I just happened to glance at the clock when it adjusted for the change. At 9:55 PM the hands began to spin until they stopped one hour earlier. I'd been waiting to see what would occur and was happy to see that the change was effected flawlessly. Here's the thing. This clock is ABSOLUTELY DEPENDENT upon consistent, reasonably good reception of the radio signal from the National Institutes of Standards and Technology station WWVB located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Reception can be adversely affected by terrain, sunspots, seasons, weather, presence of tall buildings in your area, and the type of construction of your own building, among many other factors. Contrary to the thinking of one reviewer, living in a large city is not conducive to good radio reception of distant stations. Nearby televisions, computer monitors and other appliances can also affect reception. If you live in an area with poor reception of this signal, or if your clock is placed in a poor reception area within your building it will not work properly as a radio controlled clock, and you're probably better off with a conventional clock rather than using this one in it's manual mode. As other reviewers here have pointed out this clock lacks a visible indicator to show that it has successfully set itself. I have seen such indicators on digital radio controlled clocks, but I don't know of any purely analog radio controlled clock that does have one. However, if you wish to check the clock for accuracy you can call WWVB at [...] (NOT toll-free) to listen to the time signal. If you have a computer you can download a freeware application such as Dimension 4 from Thinkman Software (a good thing to have anyway if you want accurate time on your computer) which will synchronize your computer clock to the NIST clock or other time servers. In summary, if you appreciate the satisfaction of having a clock that you know to be precise nearly all the time, if the size and style are suitable to your taste and application, and if the clock will be in an area of good reception of WWVB, then this clock is an excellent choice for the money. Addendum added 03/15/2012; When Daylight Saving Time arrived earlier this month, the clock advanced to the new time promptly and without a hitch. ... show more

  • FINALLY--NO MORE LADDERS!
Y'all with stainless steel kitchens: THIS IS YOUR CLOCK! It's handsome, and what a joy to know that I won't have to climb that ladder to reset it not just twice a year, but not even to change batteries for several years! I held off on buying an atomic clock because I hate hearing the ticking of clocks not labeled "silent." This one actually is silent! And it will keep proper time forever, unlike the Seiko "silent sweep" models that I've put up with running a few minutes off for years. ... show more

  • Awesome read
Unhappy with the product due to mechanical issue. Returned the item at whole foods, now seller saying product not received, and they reveresed the charge. Very unhappy with the product and overall experience.

  • It's Atomic, and keeps good time.
It does keep good time, and it will automatic set it's time, when daylight savings starts. It has the time zones for all across the United States. It runs on 3, AA batteries. That should last longer than just one AA battery. Being Atomic is a plus. The frame looks very good.
