Sometimes brands offer a cheaper version of a product under their name. This was Not the case for this keyless door handle. Almost commercial grade quality. I recent bought a kwickset deadbolt at a bog box store and this one I far superior in quality.

I bought these after I tried a no brand set that had a fancy phone app etc. that just was an utter failure. I returned those and bought these since I know Kwikset has made household locks for a long time. I did not need a phone app and this set was just as easy to program a custom code and it worked flawlessly. I needed a lock for a interior door. The lock was a breeze to install till it came to the handles. It comes with an Allen wrench but the instructions does not say anything about how the handles install. Just that they are there. It also doesn’t tell you that the handles install on certain sides. We replaced an existing no-lock door handle with this Kwikset unit (we have a deadbolt as well). It was quite easy to install, with clear, step-by-step instructions and illustrations. Took perhaps 20 minutes in total. It is very easy to program entry codes, just a few button pushes and done. In addition this lock conforms with Kwikset's SmartKey system, allowing consumer to very easily re-key a lock. Insert shipped key, insert tool, remove tool, remove key, insert new key, done. Very simple. We use SmartKey so that all our exterior doors along with gate and garage padlocks (you can re-key them too) all work with one key. Much prefer this to separate keys for every lock. The unit is heavy, looks nice, and hopefully will stand up over time. It uses a 9V battery to accuate an auto locking feature (which you can easily disable using the inside latch). The auto lock allows the exterior handle to pivot without moving the bolt, so the door remains closed. The keypad lights up if desired.
