The dreaded SES light came on the other day and my gauges on my vehicle are not working so I was in need of a way to see what the issue is. I have a fancy tablet style scanner from Foxwell but for some reason it wouldn't link to the OBDII protocol of my Mercury Villager last time I tried to use it. I couldn't find it this time around so figured a cheap basic OBD2 reader will do. This reader is pretty basic but does all the functions you would expect from OBD2 standard. You aren't getting advanced features here as those are more geared to the $200+ scanners. This one on sale cost me less than $15 and as you can see from my screenshots, shown me what I need to know. The neat thing is too this scanner has a built in code library so you can manually look up a code and get a description of the issue. I've used the Bluetooth reader from this same company and it's amazing. Mine was stolen so I have to get another but I can't recommend this model KW310 enough if you just need a basic obd2 reader on the cheap! ... show more

Absolutely 100% must have for us ladies who hate to take our car to the shop! This is the easiest, and at a perfect price way to ensure that we won't be taken to the cleaners by a machanic who assumes that just because we are female we don't know much in the way of cars. This product will save you and I mean male and or female hundreds of dollars. This eliminates- diagnostic fees, labor fees, and with it providing the library of code meanings you can even purchase the parts that are required prior to taking it into the shop which saves the upcharge cost of part that you would pay if the shop orders your parts or if you have a car savy guy or gal who can actually do the repair for you then you won't even have a shop bill at all. Trust me check engine light can be 101 things but alot of them can be resolved without even stopping by the garage let alone having garage repairs bills. All because of this Konnwei Kw310 code reader. Oh and by the way it will even clear the codes (turn off the engine light) after repair is made though otherwise it will come back on due to the original alarm code. Easy to use all in one code reader and clearer with code explaintions on device (no need to google search code meaning) including o2 sensor evap smogg data, stores live, playback data. Im really happy to have it, and at such a great price. I feel like it's a must have for a woman, who, isn't clueless about car and engine malfunctioning. I bought this code reader specifically for my Mercury Grand Marquis limited edition 2005, , to help diagnos some issues that I thought were going on, and to differentiate between the battery and the altinator, I didn't want to just replace both of them when I was getting faulty lights coming on. Now I feel more confident about the vehicle im driving. And I feel like I won't be taken to the cleaners on any further diagnosis of my vehicle, or have to pay for anything unnecessary I definitely feel its a tool that nobody should be without, and at a great price. ... show more

    • The best 16 dollars you will ever spend on a scan tool.
I thought for sure that I would need a much more expensive scan tool (I certainly willl, eventually), but in the years since I bought this one, it has been surprisingly useful. It very nearly does everything a DIY mechanic might need to do. It's not 2-way, and it can't clear codes or anything like that, but for the money, you will probably not find a better tool. ... show more

I needed this tool to troubleshoot OBD2 codes in multiple cars. The price was right and it had all of the features I needed for my wifes 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The menus are clearly organized and easy to understand. The green backlit screen is extremely easy to read, even in direct sunlight. The unit has live data monitoring capability which is also very useful. With only 4 buttons it is very easy and intuitive to use. The built in OBD code lookup database is a really nice touch. You can enter any code and get a full description right from the menu, which has already come in handy multiple times. I would highly recommend this unit for a compact tool to leave in your car and instantly troubleshoot problems! ... show more

Bought two of these and got a replacement, two from the the official store and one from a third party seller both branded konwei with same packaging and serial number; the third party seller one worked and the official store one didn't even connect despite display saying it was scanning for the proper protocol. Thought it was a defective unit since other one worked but replacement unit also would not connect. As it was a gift (and return period had lapsed) I went ahead and tested it on the intended vehicle (200? Honda Element) and it connected and functioned as far as I could tell. Not sure what happened here, maybe bad chips or corrupted ROM software. Not a bad price and when they work they're nice but definitely check them when you get them ... show more

So I bought this because my new (used) truck kept running check engine lights every time I would reset it. Got tired of going to the auto part store and this does exactly what it needs to do. I've found what all I need to fix and now I have friends who want to use it as well. So it was a well priced and right buy for me. Accurate too, the same codes ran just like the auto parts store.
