This product is really what I hoped for. I had been using an older, plastic model grinding attachment that had only one die plate (medium grind). It worked, but not super well for meats such as sausage and hamburger…but not really well: took a bit of time, spilled off the edge frequently, pusher got clogged up often, etc. This super duper metal one was totally worth the $75 I spent, if not more. It was like going for an easy bake oven to the kitchen one…toys work, but the real tools are so much better! Ground a pound of sausage easily and quickly, even though I ground it twice (once large and once fine). No spills …holding area is large enough to hold a pound+ at one time. Pusher worked well, and easily. Highly recommend spending the money if you have it. ... show more

I love this grinder. I make my dog's food and I need a dependable grinder with good, sturdy parts. I use this grinder weekly. I bought a knock off copy for half the price months ago, but you get what you paid for. The plate turned rusty,...yuck! I didn't want anyone ingesting that stuff (let alone my little sweet puppy dog). If you're going to use the best which is Kichenaid, use the Kichenaid made attachments and you won't be sorry. Got this today and ground 13 lbs of meat without needing to stop or slow down once. The feed tray is larger than on the plastic version and holds about 1.5lbs of meat on top. Haven't used the sausage attachments, but look and feel sturdy enough. Definitely a great upgrade over the plastic version, and comes in a box with a nice Styrofoam insert for storage ... show more

It took a little extra time to clean off the mineral oil before my initial run, which is my only complaint. On my first run, I put in a couple ribeyes, and these were the best burgers I've ever had. This grinder made easy work of the ribeyes and had a perfect burger consistency. I also got to make fresh buns with the mixer. So, all around, great food. ... show more

I got this last week and have since used it to grind about 10 lbs of beef. I’m generally very impressed with the build quality and the quality of the hamburgers it’s helping me produce, but I’m only giving it 4 stars as it’s not dishwasher safe.

Just wanted to give 5 stars after seeing a lot of the one star reviews. People mention thar they didn't know it was dishwasher safe... but it literally says it on the unit. Others complained about the rust and its no different from any other kitchen aid attachment... don't put it in the dishwasher... don't soak it... if you do that there's no issues.. Other complained that meat juices could enter your mixer. Yes! That will happen if you add freshly washed meat... don't wet your meat and pat it dry before you run it through your mixer. ... show more
