I love my glass bowl but it's heavy and a pain to wash. This bowl is light weight and so easy to clean. A must have for every kitchenAid.

    • This is an excellent buy for the KA 4.5 tilt head quart mixer
I was finally able to make a huge Swedish Tea ring which is a yeast bread in my mixer. This 5 quart bowl was made for the KA, (Kitchen Aid), mixer. This particular yeast bread needed 4-5 cups of flour not to mention the liquid of eggs, milk, salt, sugar & yeast. I used the paddle for mix it from start to finish, AND I did NOT start out at high speed. I started out gentle and worked up to #3 on the mixer. I scraped down the bowl once and continued. Then when I was ready to take the dough out into my floured counter to knead into a smooth ball, the dough was completely mixed in the bottom of the bowl. Now when I go to make double batches of cookies, I know that the cookie dough will not be overflowing the bowl. As for the quilted design, no, the batter or dough does NOT stick to the slight inside lines. I am very happy with my purchase and am glad that I decided to try this out instead of making a more expensive purchase of a larger brand of a mixer. ... show more

The glass bowl this replaced inevitably broke (knocked it over slightly, shattered everywhere on impact) may have been pretty, but this one is Gorgeous!! I looked at tons of bowls on Amazon and this was the one I decided on; it’s sturdy and easy to clean, works just fine, but the kicker really is how handsome this looks in the kitchen.
