I have a bunch of nugget ice fans in my family. Not a lot of options for home in a larger capacity that aren’t $3000+. Even the smaller home appliances are pricey. We’ve had this for 1 month and have been running it continuously. I looked at everything available and decided on this as a good balancing price and performance. Wow I have had ge opal ice maker and loved it but it died after 3 years. Bought this much cheaper one and it makes ice just like ge one. Much smaller and cheaper.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this ice maker just before Thanksgiving to put it through the ultimate test. In short, it kept the 13 of us going the entire day, however we did supplement with regular ice at dinner time. Sound: it’s not terribly loud, but you’ll definitely notice it. It makes about as much noise as a small dorm-room type refrigerator. Also, after a healthy amount of use, mine began to rattle the sides while in use. If I touch the side, it dampens it for a second, but it rattles loose again and becomes very loud. I knocked off a star for that. Production: on a normal day, it makes enough ice to satisfy an average household. You really only need about a scoop and a half of ice for a good drink, and this can hold maybe about 10 scoops when full. For me, it takes about 6-7 minutes to start making ice, but probably about 30-45 minutes before you have enough for a drink. If you leave it running 24x7, this isn’t a problem (you’ll just need to add water when you get low), but I shut mine off over night, and turn it back on the next day. Other stuff: It takes up about as much space as an air fryer. Auto shut off for when the ice bucket is full works great, but the sensor will shut it off early. Because of the way it’s designed, the ice stacks up and blocks the sensor before it’s full. This isn’t a big deal. You just need to move the ice around, and it will pick back up. For best results, keep the water reservoir full, so you’ll never run out of ice. It only takes about 30 seconds to add more water. Great value overall ... show more

This ice maker was great. Made the best pebble ice very quickly. BUT it's loud! We had to move it into our laundry room because it was so noisy in our kitchen. It also doesn't keep the ice cold once it makes it, though I don't think any of these do. Three weeks in after following all instructions, cleaning it, using only filtered water, it started making a loud noise from the motor and even when it was out of water it wouldn't stop trying to run and the out of water light wouldn't come on. Just glad it broke before we couldn't return it anymore. Definitely wouldn't recommend! ... show more

I could not be happier that I got this!! It really makes the nugget ice, actually its more like teeny tiny cubes, adorbs! I did not want a bullet ice maker since I already have a fridge ice maker.
