Solid ice machine, if you are looking for the nugget kind. Had item for over a month now and have no complaint's. If you do transfer to a freezer keep in mind the nuggets are small and tend to be wet, so after you put them into the freezer they will all stick together. No big deal though just a quick tap with the knife honing tool and they all separate.

This is a wonderful machine for the price! The ice does melt a bit in the tray as the ice is being made but it doesn’t affect the overall experience. The ice size is perfect for mixed drinks and Italian sodas! Super easy to use and not overly noisy. Easily stores when not in use. I recommend!

This is my first countertop icemaker, so I can't compare it to others. I had selected this model based on how much water and ice they held, hoping that I wouldn't have to babysit it every half hour like some of the ones that claim many pounds of ice per day but have tiny water tanks or ice storage. Some other complaints were about noise... and yes, it makes noise, but it's not excessive. I wouldn't want it next to me if I was trying to concentrate on things, but it's fine if it's in the kitchen and you're not in there much As someone mentioned in another review--the picture of it full of ice must be staged... you have to regularly push the ice to the front and sides to get the thing even half full, as it will create a stalagmite of ice, and then shut off. (when it manages to melt enough to fall, it will unblock itself and start producing after a while; if you turn it off and back on again to clear the error quickly, it will pump water through the system and might melt some of the ice it's already made). We pass through the kitchen regularly and just stir it every few hours so there's lots of ice when we want it, but if that's not your flow, you might be disappointed. Does it make ice? yes? quickly? also yes. Is it fantastic ice? I have no clue, I'm not an ice snob. (it seems to melt instantly when I put it in stuff, but that also means it's chilling things down quickly, I think) Would it be nice to have a double-walled container or similar so the ice doesn't melt as quickly? also yes. Would I get it again? I have no idea. Now that I know what my issues are with an ice maker, I might read the reviews differently.

This is the first ice maker I have bought to use on my countertop and works wonderful. Uses not a lot of water to maker wonderful ice. No mess whatsoever. Easy to set up and my kid loves the small ice. Does take up quit a lot of counter space but very worth it.
