Very easy to assemble. (We are using the plug in feature) It looks great and such a good price when you consider the inclusion of the cord covers. The shades are a good quality but the color is more brown than linen and they are much brighter than expected even with a three way bulb. I dyed some flour sack towels to place over them when we want it dimmer and that solves the issue. They are great for reading! I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend them. ... show more

Love the lamps! However, the assembly was not so simple as screws had to be shortened in order for the plate to lay flat against the wall and directions were not that clear so we had to make a lot of assumptions - which happened to be correct fortunately. Other than that, we love the lamps and would encourage anyone to buy them. They look good - especially for the price and being a 3-way is helpful. I'm only giving a 4 star since the assembly had some challenges and directions and part ID could use some improvement. ... show more

This the third set of Kira Home Cambridge swing arm lamps we've purchased- one set for each of our 3 primary bedrooms (we keep moving and then leave them with the old house). We love these lamps! They're timeless in style and most importantly, are 3-way lights so we can adjust light levels for whatever illumination we need at that moment. I have included a picture of these over my king bed, with the lights set at the highest (150) setting. I was a little skeptical about the latte mocha shades - would they be too dark? They definitely are not. I am so pleased with how these look and function. Kira Home sent me an e-mail about loosening the swing arm prior to installation, and I took their advice. These lamps can be adjusted to wherever I want them for reading or sleeping. I saved my Japanese porcelain finials from my table lamps and put them on these, but the enclosed finials would have worked just as well. I am a 65 year-old woman and I installed these myself with ease. ... show more

I bought these to replace my bedside lamps - they were taking up way too much space and I was always afraid I would knock them over in my sleep. I ordered the black matte lamps with the burlap-ish/tan shades. They were very easy to install (says my husband) and look AMAZING! Not only do they look custom, they look expensive! We've gotten a lot of compliments on them. The only change we made was to add a dimmer. Since they are a bit higher above our nightstands, it was difficult to turn on and off. These swing arm lamps are nice looking and reasonably well made, but be aware that if you don't have the tools to modify them, you're going to be frustrated. The first problem with these lamps is that the manufacturer only assumes that you will be mounting them to unsupported sheetrock. The lamps include sheetrock mounting anchors, but provides no screws for mounting directly to a wall stud. Luckily, I had those screws on hand and was able to provide my own. The second problem was that the wall mounting plate which connects to lamp, uses bolts that are about a quarter inch too long to provide a tight fit to the wall. I had to trim these bolts with a small grinder (hack saw would also have worked) to make them the correct length. This also meant that I needed to clean up the cut threads with a file to allow the mounting nuts to attach to the newly trimmed bolts. The third problem is that the switch post attached to the lamp is a bit short. It works, but it's uncomfortable to use. I may attempt to replace these with longer switch posts later but for now they'll do. Overall, the manufacturing attention to detail was poor. But once those shortcomings were overcome, the lamps themselves look quite nice. ... show more
