Got this for my 6 year olds birthday and it was a huge hit! The star projector makes really pretty lights on the walls and ceiling, and they love watching it at night before bed. It’s easy to use and the rotation feature is fun, keeps them entertained and helps them relax. The timer is also nice so I dont have to go back in to turn it off. Edit: I had to go ahead and update my review because I contacted the seller, who offered to refund the product for me, which was unexpected because it had been 6 months. That was awesome and made my day. We loved it at first, could plug it in and just use the remote to turn it on, change the settings, colors, timer. It was awesome. But it stopped wanted to stay plugged in. we tried different cords but no, it is the night light. And a set of batteries in the thing only last 3 hour. I'd have it set for one hour at bed time every night and that's a whole new set of batteries every 3 days! It would make sense if I let my kid play with this thing, but it stayed on the dresser out of her reach! I never moved it. It just decided not to work anymore. ... show more

Our daughters use this pretty much every night! The first one we got lasted us 3 years even after daily use. When we went to buy a new one, we had to return the new one because the spinning option would stop after a minute or two of use. The return was easy, and the replacement works perfectly. I got this as a Christmas present for my beautiful, almost 3 year old angel of a daughter, to help her sleep through the night without waking up around midnight, afraid of the “wee wahs” and “poo poos” that seem to plague her on a nightly basis. And help her sleep it did! The stars shone on the walls of her room, transporting her (metaphorically) to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, where there’s absolutely nothing scary. “Stars!” she would gleefully ask for at bedtime, a huge grin spread across her face like butter spread across a fresh-from-the-toaster English muffin (her favorite morning treat). She suddenly became very interested in space travel and NASA in particular, claiming she would one day become a great astronaut. I told her to look into computer engineering or something more modest, but she wouldn’t hear it! “To the moon or bust!” I imagine she would’ve said if she was capable of advanced speech. But then disaster struck down her dreams, and to be fair, I also took her to see that movie “Moonfall”, which probably didn’t help. One night towards the end of January…I heard her usual refrain of “Stars!”, and I went to turn the machine on, and wouldn’t you know it…it stayed on for about 2 seconds, then right off. I tried again. On for 2 seconds, and back off! I tried in vain for hours, my daughter sobbing uncontrollably the whole time, possibly unsure if space as she knew it had been permanently destroyed. And for all intents and purposes, it may as well have been! Now she won’t dare dream of being an astronaut, instead saying she’ll “just” become a janitor like her old man, and his old man before him. So thanks for that, makers of this thing! While it did initially project hundreds of stars, I can only give it but one, which is one more stars than it currently gives my daughter! ... show more

Not worth it. We can only use one color before it cuts itself off. As we flip through the colors to get to pink, it turns off. It goes through batteries like a new mom goes through coffee. We finally plugged it in and the cord was too short. It is a lot brighter when it’s plugged in.
