I just got the jellyfish lamp last night, I purchased it for my autistic 10 year old grand nephew, I will be giving it to him later today so I don't know how he will like it yet. However, I opened it and added the water and a few drops of soap, used the rod that came with it to get rid of the bubbles from the ides of the tank and the jellyfish. That was about it for the prep of it. I added the 2 jellyfish and the 2 fish to it and let it run for a couple of hours and it looks great, very colorful and the items are moving around good. It did not come with a remote and the motor only has one speed. The lights are nice and I think it is worth the money so far. It is a little heavy so I will be warning him to not carry it around but it is the prefect size for a side table in his room. ... show more

This lamp is SO COOL!!! I bought it for my classroom but set it up at home first to check it out. I think I’ll need to buy another at some point because my cats absolutely loved it😂 I know my students will too! Very fun and calming! Super cute, durable, easy to set up. The lights are super cool and you can have it on a rainbow changing setting, or set to a specific color. Looks and works very well. Silent and relaxing. 6 months in, I did have a problem where the motor stopped. I contacted the company through Amazon and received a quick response and offer of a replacement. I received the replacement 3 days later. I am very happy with the timeliness and quality of response from the seller. I ended up taking the broken one apart just to see, and the pump is a nice quality brushless pump. There was a bit of foam (from the built in filter) lodged against the impeller. I removed the foam and reassembled and it works fine again. It looks nicely made inside and out. ... show more

I LOVE my jellyfish aquarium!!! It’s one of my favorite gifts yet. My husband bought it for me for my birthday after he saw it in my Amazon wish list. I honestly thought it was going to be cheap looking in person and was quite surprised with how awesome it actually is. Mine came with 2 jelly fish, one large and one small. One has pink highlight paint and the other has yellow. I immediately put them both in dish soap for 4 hours before submerging them into the aquarium. I added water to the very top, rinsed off my jellies and put them in. Oh, they actually are made well. They have a very thin plastic but it’s rubbery and the tentacles feel sticky almost. They’re are really looking as can be. Upon turning the power on, it will cycle through the “light show” of colors or you can push the color mode and select one. My favorite is the blue color in the video I posted as it makes the jellyfish highlighted paint colors glow like a black light. They’re so mesmerizing to watch!! It will power off automatically after 4 hours so I put it on when I’m going to bed and fall asleep looking at them. All of my friends and friends kids want one. I’ve even had people ask me if they’re real. So if you’re not sure about getting one, do it. They look so much cooler in real life!! My video does not do it justice. Bought it as a Christmas gift for my brother's kid. It was a hit! They love sea animals and this did not disappoint. It is recommended to run it for a couple days after setting it up for the jellyfish to move properly. Make sure you plug it in during that time. We used batteries to begin with and got less than a day on them (granted, it stayed on until the batteries died, so not bad on just batteries). You can also cycle through different color lights. So even if you want a cool looking lamp or don't want the hassle of real fish, you can go with this. Definitely worth the price. ... show more

It's ok, the jelly fish don't really "swim" around they more so roll around, maybe the current is too strong for a swim like flow. If you leave it off for a day or longer the water gets hazy and murky, if you don't put soap in it like it tells you too maybe you won't have that problem

I am so happy with this jellyfish, Nemo and Dori fishes. It is very relaxing to watch.. It seems like there is more activity the longer you use it. Today my jellyfish are doing summersaults and they keep in time with the music I am listening to as well.
