I think the kids are going to love this.
Color: Orange
This is probably one of the coolest things I have gotten from Amazon. This Kids Digital Microscope comes with a charging cord and a lanyard. The buttons on the top are pretty explanatory. Zoom in, zoom out, take a picture, power and such. Fortunately it came fully charged so I could play with it strait out of the box. First thing you should know is that there is a clear plastic cover over the lens. In all honesty it took me a second to figure out. Now granted I could have read the directions but what fun is that. There is a large white wheel on the side of the Microscope to adjust the clarity. The zoom does zoom four times. Now is it a 1000x zoom I honestly don't know and have now way to measure that but it's still pretty darn cool. In the pictures I included there is one where I zoomed in on the top of my table. It came out clear and enlarged. There are 8 led lights to light up what ever your going to look at. The display is a little small but you definitely can see objects clearly. The case feels sturdy like it might handle being dropped ok. It definitely feels like it was made for kids to use so that is a good thing. The battery has a two hour life which is a little bit of a bummer. I know if I let my nephew and niece play with this they are going to burn that battery up quick. The box does say that it also takes to hours to recharge the battery. Honestly the battery is the only bad thing about this Microscope. Even that though is not horrible. I'm curious if I plug a power pack in if it will work while charging. All in all I can see the kids having a blast playing with this an learning what different bugs and plants really look like up close. Definitely glad I got it. ... show more

Very impressive, options, magnificatiin and resolution!
Color: Orange
My granddaughter is coming to visit, and I was given an opportunity to order this Kids Digital Microscope, 1000X Handheld Pocket Microscope STEM Science Toy. The microscope arrived with a USB-A to USB-C charging cord, a strap, and a user manual. The user manual is lacking some specifications and button descriptions, so I had to retrieve some information from the advertisement photos—such as the screen having a 2-megapixel resolution. That being said, the screen is very clear with its 2-inch, 2-megapixel In-Plane Switching (IPS) display. The internal memory can hold up to 100 photos. For extra memory, you can install a micro SD card up to a maximum of 64 gigabytes. While getting familiar with this portable toy microscope, I discovered several great things about it. First, the resolution does not feel like a toy at all. In my opinion, the clarity is outstanding and looks almost professional. Second, once you focus on an item, there are two direction buttons on the left side of the screen to digitally magnify the object you are looking at up to 4 times its size (10X, 100X, 500X, 1000X). Finally, I appreciate that the image can be shown on a PC or laptop through the supplied USB cable. I want to point out that my attached photo of a piece of cloth does not do justice to the actual image on the screen. The distortion in the photo is likely due to the Moiré effect, which happens when a camera takes a picture of another pixelated screen. Please do not judge the microscope's screen based on my photo! I know my granddaughter will absolutely love this toy microscope, and I can't wait to see her reaction when she discovers the miniature world around us. ... show more

Great for Micro Soldering!
Color: Orange
I picked this up mainly for some DIY electronics work, specifically micro-soldering, after realizing how useful a similar microscope had been. While it's marketed as a kids' microscope, it has actually worked really well for my projects, and it's also a fun way for kids to explore small objects and learn. The microscope is very easy to use, and getting it focused is quick and straightforward. (Full disclosure, my kid has one of their own, and this is how I got the idea to use it for DIY projects). The zoom is impressive and lets you get extremely close to whatever you're looking at. The image quality is exactly what I was hoping for and has been more than good enough for inspecting solder joints and other small details. Adjusting the focus is simple, so it doesn't take long to get a clear picture. The only issues I noticed were fairly minor. The plastic cover protecting the camera arrived with several scratches, which was a little disappointing at first. Fortunately, once the microscope is properly focused, those scratches aren't noticeable during use. The other downside is that the shape isn't the most ergonomic, whether you're using larger or smaller hands, but it's still comfortable enough for shorter sessions. I'm also not 100% convinced it really zooms in 1000x, but it does more than enough for what I need. It just might be my perception of what "1000x" is. Overall, this has been a great little microscope that performs better than I expected. I'd happily give it 4.5 out of 5 stars and would definitely recommend it. ... show more

Excellent Kids Microscope
Color: Orange
This microscope really hits all the notes in terms of what you want for a child. We used to have one that hooked to a computer and you had to view it on the computer screen, that worked but obviously it was pretty limiting. By comparison this type of microscope where it has an integrated screen and integrated storage is really perfect. Kids want to run around outside and use it and do whatever and they don't want it to be connected to a computer with a wire. You'll need your own Micro SD card for video recording AND to transfer photos out of the microscope. The microscope works without a card and it has a small amount of internal storage, the manual says for about 100 pictures, but it appears as if there's no way to transfer pictures stored in the internal storage out of the microscope. By comparison photos stored on the micro SD card can be transferred out of the microscope. Micro SD cards are dirt cheap and I'd say get one with the scope. The other highlight is obviously the integrated screen, not needing to connect it to some other device that has a screen greatly simplifies the operation and I think makes this more accessible to younger kids. It seems pretty sturdy and feels like it could take some knocks during ordinary play. Overall a great learning toy, easy 5 stars. ... show more

Very fun for kids
Color: Orange
This is a really fun and easy-to-use microscope that's perfect for kids. We've used it for homeschooling, homeschool co-op, Girl Scouts, and even just exploring outside at the park. It doesn't take much effort to operate, so kids can start discovering things almost immediately. The magnification isn't at the level of a traditional laboratory microscope, but it definitely has that "wow" factor. It lets kids see details they normally wouldn't notice and encourages them to explore leaves, rocks, bugs, flowers, and anything else they find interesting. One of my favorite features is the built-in screen. Nobody has to put their eye up against an eyepiece, so everyone can easily see what they're looking at. That also makes it much more hygienic when multiple kids are taking turns. Since it's rechargeable, we can take it on field trips or outings and simply recharge it at home or even in the car afterward. Every group of kids I've shown it to has absolutely loved it. ... show more

Fun device but additional micro-SD card ($18-$29) needed for full photo function.
Color: Orange
I spent much of my childhood inspecting flora and fauna outdoors and would have loved this little magnifier “microscope”. It should be great fun for a scientifically inquisitive child or grandchild. The recommended ages are 3-12 yrs, but if I had an interested middle schooler, I would order something more sophisticated. As is, in my opinion, it is best suited for preschool and elementary school students. Unfortunately, for full access to the photo and recording features of this toy microscope, one needs to also purchase a micro-SD card (additional $18 - $29) which is not included and may be a rub for some families. Independent of the magnification function, the microscope, as is, can capture and save up to 100 images that can then be reviewed on the device. The company does not say what happens after you save 100 images. I have not found a way to clear any of these “internally” recorded images. I thought if connected to a computer, the internal images could be deleted. That said, neither I nor my computer savvy husband was able to get our Dell laptop or Dell desktop computers to recognize the microscope through the provided USB cable…. but perhaps that issue is resolved with the additional SD card, which I do not have? Regardless, the included manual instruction states, “Photos stored internally are inaccessible to other devices for security reasons” ……. so, deletion may not be possible even with an SD card. I did try inserting a 2-inch-long wire into the “reset key” hole but it did not touch anything to push for reset to factory setting. In spite of that, the “microscope” is fun and easy to use to examine plants, rocks, insects etc. that you may encounter on a walk in the backyard or woods, or items found around the house. Do not expect to see “germs” with this device though with appropriate specimen preparation you may be able to see micro pond life or blood cells. Focusing is simple and intuitive by rotating the white, vertical column on the side. There is a clear protective plastic cover over the light source port which can be removed and cleaned if needed. (Overtime this plastic will likely become scratched, but it serves as protection for the internal lens and lights.) Again, a micro-SD card is required to fully access all the photo and video recording features. 4 stars ... show more

AI Photos Almost Ruined it - But, the product is good and fun
Color: Orange
Based on the AI generated photos, I was anticipating a much larger device than the one that arrived. I’ve thought about giving this a single star. The good news is the product is good! So I thought I’d share what I have with the product not the advertising. I found this to be a lot of fun and of good quality and features for the price. It is very easy to hold. The color screen is adequate and the feature buttons have good icons and make sense. The features allow for viewing, focusing adjustments, and photos. The light illuminates at a distance or on top of the subjects. I have fun using this as an adult, but the kids eyes immediately light up as they run off to look at and unlock the micro universe around us. Overall I like the product, find it to be good quality, and good value. ... show more

Good magnification, simple to use, easy for kids to hold
Color: Orange
I got this microscope because my great-niece has really been into playing “science” lab when she comes to visit us. The microscope is easy to charge via USB C and seems to have hours of use time. It took us a while to figure out what can easily be seen through the microscope as we are both too afraid to get close to insects like the image on the website. Ultimately, we decided to look at book pages and fabric which is really fascinating to zoom into. I can’t say for sure if the 1,000 times magnification is accurate but it really magnifies an image so you can see the ink drops that actually great the font! The scope is easy for little hands to hold and even for her to adjust the focus button on the side. The display on top is colorful and does a great job of showing the subject you are magnifying. ... show more
