I bought these to hang black out curtains over an area that I don't want to see what's behind the curtain in the basement. The rods hang from the open beams with 2 - 9 foot long blackout curtains. They hold these very long curtains well but if I had to constantly open and close these curtains, I don't think the rods would hold up over time. For the money (not very costly) they do the job for sure and give a look of brown metal pipes. I'm not disappointed with my purchase for the purpose I bought them for, but would not buy these for my bedrooms where curtains are constantly opened and closed and at close view they look fake. ... show more

I found this Kenny Adler curtain rod in my search for a smaller-sized rod to provide some privacy at a rear doorway (the door has square glass panes that can be seen through). The colors matched the chandelier in that room, and the price seemed about right. The old shade was a mangled roll-up window shade that had been bracketed to the door itself, so it took a lot of abuse (with the door being opened & closed): that shade was removed and thrown-out immediately after my last tenant had vacated. This curtain rod arrived in perfect condition. I mounted it only 1-2 inches above the door frame, since the ceilings are not very tall. It's not the easiest thing to install without a second person helping, but I was able to get it level and mounted without major difficulty or having to put a bunch of extra holes in my drywall. I'm removing a star for the instructions not specifying the size of the holes to drill (for the drywall anchors to securely be tapped-in). I started small as to avoid any errors that could not be easily remedied (eg holes that were too large), but the required trial and error made installation a much longer process than it should have been. A 5/32" drill bit ended-up working for me; start one drill bit smaller than that, if you're worried about it. Once the two ends are screwed-into the wall, the two sections of rod easily telescope together, and you just rotate them to screw them in on the far ends. If you're using curtain rings you won't need to take it apart again, but you will need to do just that if you're threading the rod through the curtain itself. If you have a small curtain to put up and the dark finish matches your decor, you should be pleased with this purchase. This was not a VINE item, so I actually bought this curtain rod, and I'm happy with it. Just be sure to (1) use a good level, (2) have a second person to assisting you with the install, and (3) use a 5/32" drill bit (or the metric equivalent) to avoid the frustration I experienced when putting it up. ... show more

I have been looking for a industrial pipe style for my laundry room but couldn't find an exact size for where the 2x4s in my shelf were. This curtain rod is adjustable and worked perfect. It is heavy, great quality and stable enough to hold a good bit of clothes. BUT if stretched too wide, then of course you can expect it to sag some in the center. Mine is set right at 42 inches wide. And for reference, my wooden shelf brackets are set in the studs on the wall, so it gave it extra stability. ... show more

These went up slowly with no issues. Measuring was a challenge - it always is for me - but I was careful and methodical and got them up with no problem. They look wonderful and are very sturdy in the drywall. I'll be ordering another pair for an adjoining room.
