UPDATE: Upon contacting Amazon I received a partial refund for the damaged item and was satisfied with the outcome. My experience is that Amazon is normally willing to be reasonable and offer resolution if you have an issue with an item. Still disappointed that the item made it into the box damaged as much as it was but thank you Amazon. Original: Purchased this set to u use on our new induction range. Unpacking the cookware and got down to the last pan, of the 8" fry pan, only to discover a big chip/gouge in the finish/coating. Now I'll have to send back and we have no cookware for our range in the meantime! ... show more

I purchased this set in February 2022 for use on a brand new induction stove. This set was highly rated in a consumer magazine, reasonably priced, and seem to be well made. When I began using the frying pans it seemed to me that I needed to set the heat input into these pans higher than I had used on my old pans on my old electric smooth top stove. For example, on my old stove with Aluminum pans, I'd use a medium heat setting to fry some eggs, but using these Kenmore pans on the induction stove I'd have to use a higher heat setting to cook eggs and get the same result. I thought that the problem may have been my new induction stove, particularly since the Kenmore pans were specifically advertised to be usable on induction stoves. However, I recently bought some ears of corn and filled the Kenmore 4.5 qt Dutch Oven about half full of water to boil the corn. It took nearly 15 minutes to marginally heat the water to near boiling, and I never achieved a rolling boil! I checked the bottom of the Kenmore pot and it is attracted to a magnet, as required for an induction stove. The magnet was attracted to the pot, but not very strongly. I then took an older similar size pot from a different manufacturer and checked it with a magnet, and the magnet was strongly attracted to that pot. Using this older pot with a similar amount of water, on the same burner of the same induction stove, I had a rolling boil in less than three minutes! So I believe that the heating issue with the Kenmore pots, on an induction stove, is due to how well the pots 'couple' with the magnetic field of the induction stove. They do work with an induction stove, just not as well as other pots that are available. ... show more

Our 4 year old induction cook wear was starting to flake on the inside and i don't like eating teflon. So I got these. Wife was iffy at first but now loves them. They are less sticky than our previous, more expensive, Calphalon set that was flaking. Super easy to hand wash so we hope they last longer. The only problem, 1 star off, was the smallest sauce pan would not heat on our induction top, and we tried all 4 burners. Also, you are limited on the temp in the oven if you want to do something in the oven. Apparently to 350 F. We have a few pans (not flaking) from the old set that are ok in the oven to 500 F. I also like the wood utensils that came with it. ... show more

Got these on sale and so far nothing sticks except where the grommets hold the handle so those are tough to scrub. These pans are are not as deep as expected and seem noticeably smaller than the previous set I owned so do your homework and check volume as well as diameter when shopping. The color is beautiful. These pans are very strong. I was them in the dishwasher and they don't flake or peel. Probably the best set of pans I've had second to my Paula Dean...but pretty close. Would recommend these pans.
