This model is a super cool mini scale model of the 1911. The polished finish is great. The functions are pretty cool too. The polished magazine holds dummy rounds, a magazine relase locks the magazine in place, the slide locks back and controled with a slide release, the thumb safety works and the trigger will release the hammer but only when the grip safety is depressed. All functions of an actual 1911. The first complaint is that only 5 dummy rounds are included. Looks like the magazine should hold more - at least give 7 like an OEM 1911. The second is that it is slightly too small. While operable, I think it would be better if it was just a little bit bigger so that the trigger was easier to operate. I have similar model of another firearm and it is a little bigger and easier to work with.

I’m an aficionado of full size mechanical devices, and I feel qualified to comment on this replica. It’s an excellent reproduction with no obvious dimensional or cosmetic discrepancies. The machining and detailing are precise, making it an impressive miniature overall. Operationally, it performs well. The slide racks and ejects smoothly, and both the grip and manual safeties function correctly. The trigger pull is stiff, but the external mechanics operate as they should for a non firing replica. It arrives in a rugged, well constructed carrying case. As with another item I purchased from this vendor, no manual was included. I later found a demonstration video in the listing that I initially overlooked. The field stripping capability is remarkable—this miniature breaks down exactly like the full size original. Reassembly takes patience due to the scale, so reviewing the video is essential. I’ll never match the speed and dexterity shown in their demonstration, but it’s impressive engineering nonetheless. I didn’t see a direct YouTube link, and I recommend the vendor add one for easier access. A display stand would be a valuable addition. A similar product from this vendor included one, and it made presentation and storage much cleaner. A proper stand would significantly enhance the display value of this model, and I’ll have my brother fabricate one. Lastly, I contacted the vendor because I initially thought the set included six cartridges and I received five. Tanner responded within 24 hours and clarified the listing for me. My bad. I was very impressed with the prompt, professional response.

This is an excellent miniature replica of a full-size 1911. The slide, hammer, magazine, and other moving parts all function just like the real thing, making it a lot of fun to handle. The parts are a little loose, but since mine is going on display that isn't much of an issue, and I've had good experiences with this company's other models. The only flaw I noticed is that the slide sits just a bit too far forward after chambering a round, which prevents the thumb safety from engaging properly. Aside from that odd quirk, everything works as expected and it's an impressively accurate display piece but if i had purchased this intending to fidget/handle it I would likely ask for an exchange to be honest.

I purchased this M1911 Miniature Model Kit 1:2 scale and am floored at how detailed MASSIMO has been with this classic gun. Right up front, although it is a model kit, there are working parts in it. You can lock the slide back and release with the slide release. You can reload the magazine with the tiny model bullets, insert the magazine, rack it and load brass into the ejection port. The hammer clicks back automatically or you can manually pull it back to lock. Thumb safety also moves and locks the gun. You can pull the trigger (nothing actually projects from it) and then eject a round out of the ejection port. My son is absolutely in love with this gun and so am I. Such an elegant model M1911. Material is solid polished die cast metal and it is sturdy in your hand. This version is the 1:2 size but we also own the advanced model in black which is a slightly larger model M1911 with the same features. I personally love the slightly larger model and would pay the extra for the larger size. As seen in the pictures I showed comparison side by side as well as gram measurements.
