  • UPDATE- giving this a 1 rating, zero if I could. Poor warranty service!
Color: White
1/17/22 UPDATE: I wrote a review in 2018 and what happened this past week has made me re-think buying appliances from Amazon or Sears again. And I will be renovating my kitchen this year with all new appliances. I noticed on 12/23/21 a noise that sounded like a fan running in my 3 1/2 year old Kenmore refrigerator. I had not heard this sound before. After hearing the sound on and off for several hours, it stopped. Then on Christmas Eve morning, I discovered that the interior of my refrigerator was 65 degrees. Freezer was still working fine. I called Kenmore Customer Service but they were closed. I had purchased a Kenmore 5-year service plan from Amazon and I found a different phone number on 12/25. I was told to unplug the refrigerator, vacuum the coils and in 24 hours, everything would be fine. I called later in the afternoon to verify and was told it should be 24-48 hours. On 12/26, I called Kenmore Service again after 24+ hours as the temp was still registering 65. I was told I needed a service call. The first available date was JANUARY 19! So that meant we wouldn't have an operating refrigerator for almost a month On 12/27, I went through the Amazon Customer Service site and spoke with 3 different representatives. I was told Amazon doesn't carry the refrigerator anymore and there was nothing they could do. On 12/28, I thought I would try one more time. I spoke to another Amazon Customer Service rep and got the same answer- sorry, nothing we can do. It's Kenmore's warranty. Yet Amazon sold the refrigerator and separate Kenmore warranty to me and did nothing to help alleviate my problem. Hoping the service call happens this week and that my fridge gets working again after almost a month without! 1/19/22 Sears service, over the last week, has sent me numerous emails, texts and phone messages that I should be here between 1 and 5 on 1/19/22 for the repairman to repair my refrigerator. I was told I would pay a fee if I was not. At 1:15 today, I received a live phone call from Sears, letting me know that the technician could not be here today and the next appointment available is a month from now. I asked why I wouldn't be the next person on the list when the technician became available and was told they don't do it that way. BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!! ---------- 2018: Jury Is out depending on the service call. Bought in May and quickly discovered issues... When door opened, mullion bar doesn't always open or close correctly. We have to manually close door most of the time. Back top part of refrigerator freezes foods stored there.. Used appliance thermometer- 28 degrees when fridge is set on default 37. Freezer is frosty... temps -10 below 0 when set on default 0. At this point, worst refrigerator we've ever had. Wish we had spent a few more bucks and bought something hopefully better! We've been traveling and when we would be home, not enough time to be here to get a service call. Called today 8/2 and got service call 8/17. Will update this review after that. UPDATE 8/17: Service technician 'repaired' the mullion bar and suggested if we had issues again, that my husband could put in a shim to see if that would work. Hmmm.... The 'fix' lasted one day and is actually worse now than before. When I called the Customer Service line, I told the rep that I didn't think we should try to be repairing our refrigerator as that would surely invalidate our warranty. He agreed and set up another appt with a difference technician. Will update. UPDATE 8/22: Same service technician installed some little plastic pieces supposed to help the mullion bar stay in place. The fix is working thus far- it didn't work this well when it was brand new. I am upping to 2 Stars but jury is still out if these plastic pieces can do the job long-term. ... show more

  • Fridge is good, Kenmore IS NOT!
Color: Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel
I’ve had this fridge for about 2 weeks. I REALLY like it! It’s huge!! Seriously!! It came on time. I had to remove apartment door to get it in. Not a problem though. My problem was with the delivery team for NY. The guys did take the doors off the fridge to get it inside, which I instructed them to do upon arrival, days in advance. But the delivery team, took the water hose and connectors that was going to be used to connect the fridge to the water supply. So that night I called Amazon. Amazon had me contact the delivery people as I was expecting. No big deal, so I thought. When speaking to them, they told me they would have someone deliver a brand new kit. I went to do some shopping, and found that a metal plate on the ice maker was missing. (You can see it in the pictures above) It’s the metal piece that directs the ice cubes directly into the ice tray. So, I called Amazon again. This time, I was directed to Kenmore. Can you believe that no one in their parts department knew anything about this piece or how to handle it? This is so unprofessional!! I got so annoyed, that after 2 hours... I hung up. Amazon called me with a follow up. They offered to take the fridge and give me a new model. I refused it. I could take another day off, but I really appreciated the offer! Besides, the fridge is working great. The ice maker wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me. The delivery team came and delivered the water kit. What an INSULT!! The guy came and handed me a hose that he just brought before getting here. In the description area, it says the hose is 6ft. He gives me a 5’1 hose. No connection pieces. He stated, “You can’t connect yours because you need a plummer” I told him, I want what I paid for!! He got nasty, and I advised him to leave my home. I reported this to Amazon, and they stated that I was under warranty and Kenmore will send you all the parts. After speaking to Kenmore again, THEY STILL COULDNT HELP! They didn’t know what the water kit was or what hose to order. Then this rep tells me, “Oh it doesn’t come with connectors!” When I told her to come to this page, and READ the question & answer section. That you can see CLEARLY that reps from KENMORE responded to questions and told customers, “Everything is included to install your ice maker to your homes water supply!” The rep got so frustrated, she placed me on hold and hung up!!! LOL. Amazon came to the rescue and fixed the situation. Through all this, the fridge is still worth the purchase. I made a salad and put it in a bad. I then placed it in the crisper bins. I’m now eating it. No sogginess, no dampness. I’m in awe. Even the sliced tomatoes are still fresh. And that’s saying something, because it’s been a week. The freezer doesn’t produce any frost. I love the door alarm. Sodas and juices are cold, not frozen. All my veggies are crisp as the day I brought them. The doors hold so much stuff. I’m so not used to this lol. I don’t have to do so many trips to the store. Now it’s like I have a supermarket in my fridge. My eggs aren’t FROZEN! Omg. Yes I’d definitely recommend this fridge. I just pray you won’t need to deal with Kenmore. I’ll update again after 6 months to a year. ... show more
