Amazing Bike with Weak Keiser M App
Color: Raven Black
The quality and craftsmanship of the Keiser M3i is amazing. You can tell this American company takes a lot of pride in the M3i and it shows immediately from how well they pack the bike for shipping. All of the parts are extremely well made, neatly organized and labeled. Took me less than an hour to assemble. The assembly instructions were very easy to follow. The ride is very smooth and quiet. The range of resistance it offers is outstanding and seamless. I weigh 200 lbs and can push ~1,000 watts for a few seconds and the M3i can beyond my ability which is what I wanted. The display unit on the bike is very easy to read and displays right key data. My only complaint is that it very hard to connect the Keiser M3i to my training apps like Strava, Apple Watch/Health and Garmin. The Keiser M App lacks basic features that would make it much easier to connect with confidence. Keiser definitely needs to put same level of effort in to their software as they did the technical design and manufacturing. ... show more

100% Worth the expense, More reliable than a Peloton, No monthly fee
Color: Raven Black
At face value, this may seem like a very expensive item to purchase. And it is, no doubt about it. But as the old saying goes: "You get what you pay for." This is a gym quality stationary bike and it shows in the way it is manufactured. Everything about this bike seems to have been well designed and is extremely sturdy and durable. The bike is shipped in a large, heavy box and there is some assembly required. However, it took me less than an hour to have everything put together and have the ability to take the bike for a "spin". The instructions were well written. When you ride this bike it is whisper quiet! THis is great for the apartment setting I currently live in where I don't want to disturb the neighbors. And while the bike is heavy, it is very easy to maneuver around with the wheels that are built into the frame. The best part is after you pay for and assemble the bike there are no added subscriptions to worry about or monthly fees, software updates, or worrying about your bike not being supported anymore (I'm looking at you Peloton). While this was a big expense, I am glad I took the plunge. You should too! This purchase is a one-way ticket to a more healthy, more physically fit YOU! ... show more

Pricey But Worth Every Penny
I had a list of needs that I wanted an indoor stationary bike to meet: 1) adjustable gearing; 2) combo pedals that included ability for me to clip in with my Shimano SPD cleats; 3) adjustable seat and handlebars; 4) multiple handlebar positions such as aerobars; 5) adjustable resistance levels; 6) integrated on-board computer; 7) Bluetooth capability. The Keiser M3 Plus met ALL of these needs and then some. It was important that it had an on-board computer, so that all sensors were already pre-installed. Once I start pedaling, the computer comes alive with all of the necessary stats: distance, speed, watts, cadence, time elapsed, and heart rate. NOTE: This product requires a Polar-brand Bluetooth compatible HR chest strap, which is not included. There was no pairing or syncing necessary once I put on my chest strap. There are some reviews that the computer as other capabilities, but I was not interested in that aspect other than the basics I mention I above. The bike came with a very nice media holder that snaps onto the handlebars. It securely holds my iPad or iPhone. Assembly requires that you read the instruction manual BEFORE assembly, not during. There are about 10 different tools required but not included, and are listed in the instruction manual. It is important to follow all directions carefully. As I was putting it together with my husband, I realized that in doing so, it ensured safe operation afterwards. This is why it is also important to use the tools listed. I felt that Keiser was very thorough in making this clear in the manual. Make sure all parts are set out and required tools handy. The instruction manual is excellent, with clear diagrams that illustrate assembly steps. One reviewer stated it only took him 30 minutes to set-up. I was very systematic in reading the manual and assembling the tools. I recruited my husband for help (e.g., getting the tools and assembly). Actual assembly time took us about 1 hour to complete. In terms of functionality, the seat is comfortable and everything is adjustable. I am five-feet tall, and was a little concerned if it was going to be too big for me. It fits me perfectly! It also fits my husband, who is six-feet tall. With the combo pedals, family members can use the pedals without cleats. The pedals come with toe cages to insert your foot in for stability. I don't need them with my cleats, nor do I like them, so I removed them easily. This bike makes little to no noise. The footprint is small, and fits on a floor mat 36" x 48" in size. The seat is not only is the seat adjustable vertically and horizontally, but I can also adjust the seat itself. It may need some tweaking due to misalignment during shipping. It is possible to change out the seat as well. I can shift gears at levels between 1-21 (it may go higher, but I haven't checked that yet). NOTE: This bike requires using the emergency brake to slow the flywheel; it does not operate like typical coaster brakes do. I am used to this from using similar machines at my gym. If you are unfamiliar with this kind of operation, try it out at your local gym. In summary, this is a high-end, gym-quality stationary bike. If it meets all of your needs like it did mine, then you get what you pay for. It has wheels on the front of the frame for moving as needed. The stand also includes the ability to level it on uneven surfaces. I recommend purchasing a heavy-duty floor mat to place it on. I purchased one made from Body Solid, available on Amazon. I also recommend that you purchase a Polar-compatible, Bluetooth heart rate monitor chest strap. I purchased the Polar Bluetooth H7, also available on Amazon. The unit is very well packaged. The box that the bike came in was very big and heavy. Make sure you have space available upon a delivery. The delivery guy will need a dolly to deliver it. All-in-all, this was an EXCELLENT purchase, I am very happy with it, and I predict that I will become a loyal Keiser customer. ... show more

I love my Keiser M3i.
Color: Raven Black
Assembly of the Keiser m3i was easy, but the packaging took over an hour to remove. A lower corner of the packaging was torn off when delivered, but the double level packaging assured that no cycle components were damaged. The M3i makes no sound I can hear in use, is very comfortable to ride, and has needed no repairs since purchase. The unique design or the crank arms has increased my upper leg muscle strength. Use of the industry standard pedal and seat attachments has allowed simple replacement of those items to meet my specific needs. The supplied computer provides all the data I want to evaluate my exercise, including current and average ride rpm, accumulated ride kilo calories, ride time, ride miles, and life time odometer. Odometer on my M3i indicated over 16000 miles in July 2023. When purchased, I only rode the M3i about 3 times a week, alternating with road cycles and other forms of exercise. Currently I ride the M3i 18 odom. miles every day I am home. I am the sole user. I am over 80 years old, was an active road cyclist from age 5 to age 78 but ended road riding in 2021 because of heat prostration (most days here reach over 90 degrees). Now, any exercise has to be in air conditioning. I cannot stand or walk without crutches or other support or control my ankle, which means my feet must be placed on cycle pedals centered under my heels with foot angled upwards on outside edge. Because of this I cannot use cycle shoes or the Keiser pedals but must wear flat soled shoes on flat pedals. Leg injuries require that i wear tight padded cycle shorts when sitting on a cycle saddle. I was an active outdoor cyclist from age 5 to 79, and have owned and used many types, brands and qualities of road cycles, as well as other exercise devices such as fan and friction resistance indoor cycles, other cycle exercise machines and other exercise devices (weight lifting and treadmill). All have now been discarded. The M3i far exceeds them all in quality and design, an better fits my current needs. ... show more

Super high quality bike.
Color: Raven Black
This is by far the best spin bike I have ever ridden, I have done hundreds of classes in different gyms for the past 15 years. When I got this bike about a year ago I was worried about the quality having never ridden this brand. Now I will say it’s worth the cost. My wife and I use it at least every week and usually a few times each week. It is very easy to set up if you are handy at all. It is slightly heavy but that is a good thing in my opinion. I would say that it is silent but if you listen you can actually hear a slight hum, the sound is nothing that can be heard from more than a few feet away. If you are the only user it is great because of the hand screws that hold the seat post and neck in place. My wife and i are close enough in size that we do not have to change the position. If you have users of different size it would be a very slight inconvenience but still worth it due to the strength this feature adds vs some other styles and the handlebar and saddle are easy to adjust. The on-board computer is good, and it also connects to an app that is better and tracks start time, duration, average power in watts, average cadence, average heart rate(with a connected monitor), caloric burn, energy output in Kj and distance. It will not connect to Zwift at this time but I am told they are working on that. I keep ours in a corner of the room on a heavy mat but we use it in the center of the room with Vids on the T.V. and it is easy to move on our wood floors. I have never tried to roll it on carpet or other surfaces but it has two roughly 3 inch wheel that it pivots on to move. The wheels are high quality and look a little like the wheels for a in line skate. In short I love this bike and consider it a friend. I not only would recommend it but have. ... show more

This is the right bike!
Color: Raven Black
From all the different choices and different price points, I have chosen Keiser M3i and I am very glad I did! I waited a total of 17 days for the bike. It came in a box within a box. I am a single female and it was hard for me to bring it in the door from my porch; 106 LB box but it felt even heavier. It took me an afternoon to cut open the boxes, and take it piece by piece to my second floor. It was packed so well and secure; not a scratch on anything; but the outer box was not so lucky. It took me 3 hours to put it together slowly and methodically without too much stress or trouble. And let me tell you, I did not even know what was a torque wrench before this, I am beyond a noob and I did not even call Keiser for help.. By the way, the torque wrench that comes in the tool bag is not one of those click style wrenches and it took me a while to get the hang of it. Also I had a bit trouble lining up the holes of the flywheel and the cap; but I figured out. The video makes it look so easy! Also it was a workout putting it together, a plus! It is a solid as rock, secure and hella smooth ride! I am a tall and heavy rider and this thing does not move,, creek,, wobble or nothing when I get up and run, or do jumps on it.. The thing I am not crazy about is the bottle holder but I knew that before buying. This is the upside of being home, I have other places to rest my bottle. I swapped the saddle with one that is kinder to ladies. By the way,, there is no way to adjust the saddle to bring the nose down. I am so glad I have chosen Keiser M3i. Especially because It is a big purchase for me, seeing my investment was worth it makes me feel so much better about this splurge. ... show more

Cheaper alternative to Peloton
Color: Raven Black
I got this bike to use with the Peloton app. It's pretty expensive even refurbished, but cheaper than a Peloton and everyone says it's a better quality bike. I hired someone to put it together and it went quickly. It's very quiet and sturdy. I had only done a few spin classes prior so I can't compare it to anything else. If I don't like spinning it will be easy to sell, why I got a Keiser. It is taking a while to figure out how to use the m3i app, downloading the data, syncing with other devices, and all that -- that is the path when you go off brand. But there is lots of friendly online support. It takes a while for your butt to get used to the saddle so I'm easing into the data side of it. I am replacing the saddle with one that has a cut out in the middle. My sit bones are getting used to the saddle it but the fleshy bits are definitely not. Otherwise I'm pleasantly surprised at how easy and motivating it is to use regularly and how quickly improvement comes. If you have money to burn get a Peloton, but otherwise I prefer the flexibility of a Keiser with a much cheaper monthly Peloton subscription and the ability to use other apps should they come along. And to use my tablet for multiple other things besides the rides. ... show more

Good bike, TERRIBLE app, customer service is frustrating
Color: Raven Black
I've had this bike a few months now. It is quiet (but not silent, there is a noise from the drive belt) but it is very smooth and responsive. Assembly was straight-forward, but unless you want to find all the tools you need to assemble it yourself, I would recommend getting the tool package available on their website. The torque wrench was our deciding factor in just buying their kit. Keiser offers a discount on the tool package if you purchase it with the bike directly on their website. Things to know: the app is TERRIBLE. Other reviewers have already listed all the bugs in depth, but the app is unreliable for recording workouts and is not user-friendly. The bike also will not work directly with other apps (like Peloton). For that you need the converter, which costs another $200 on top of this bike, unless you buy the bike directly from their website. Then it is only $50. Considering they were discounting it 75% with purchase of the bike, I consider $200 a rip-off for what your bike should have done in the first place (work with other apps). I wrote customer service about the bugs. They agreed there was a problem and the developer would be notified. I was told I would be updated when it was fixed. I never was. The problem in the app still persists as of my writing this review. Customer service: I wrote customer service via email. As far as timeliness, they wrote back quickly. However, if I ever had more than one question in my message, one, and only one, of my questions would be answered. I had to write back multiple times for my additional questions to be answered, so one simple email took several days to be fully addressed. As stated above, some of the issues never were. I will update the review if any issues with the bike itself come up. I love the bike, how smooth it runs, and the huge range of resistances available. It seems well-designed and like it will hold up. However, there are some big annoyances that will cost you extra $$$ to overcome. ... show more
