    • This helps my muscle spasms so much
This is wonderful stuff!! I heard about it on a blog about how it is so relaxing and so I take it in the eve to help my muscles relax. I had researched it to see if it interacted with my meds and it didn't and so I have been taking it. But the problem is that I was researching the other day that with frequent (like every night-me) and long term use (I've been taking it several years as of now) can cause liver damage. Oh yeah rah! I look terrible in yellow. (Just kidding there, that's what I do when stressed) my dr did liver tests and my liver is fine. I vowed to stop taking it. I don't have an addictive personality, it's not in my genetic make up. I have been on several prescription meds and taken off cold turkey and no withdrawal symptoms. And other things the same way. But I do take meds that decrease my pain or discomfort. And I couldn't stop taking this and to be honest I don't know if I'm addicted to it or if it's because I'm addicted to not being being in pain ... show more

The effect is just about like a double dose of Melatonin. It is a great sleep aid if melatonin doesn’t work for you. Online reviews from ‘health’ professions say it’s effect is like alcohol. This WAS the absolute best Kava Kava but now it has Ashwagandha which I cannot take. It causes problems with my liver. I'm really disappointed.

    • Really effective at muscle relaxing.
Really effective at muscle relaxing. I am a very sensitive person so for me personally, it's somewhat addictive, however, the side effects are practically none compared to pharmaceutical muscle relaxers. Its capsule formula has allowed me to adjust the amount I'm getting in order to comfortably ween off of them. When my stiffness and muscle cramps are very bad I will take a whole capsule, as I recover I twist the capsule open to pour half of its contents into tea or smoothies to do so. It works for my needs.     • Caution: Please Research This Supplement!!!
I found out the hard way and after taking this very supplement for 8 months I have recently found out that the Kava has negatively impacted my liver. Blood tests showed my I have very elevated liver enzymes, extremely high cholesterol (after having very regular cholesterol for years I had a major spike in the last 1 year) which now has resulted in a liver condition known as NASH. Nash is treatable but not irreversible. Please research this supplement before taking. I too found this supplement to be very beneficial for my stress and anxiety, however, the mental clarify I gained came at the cost of a healthy body. Additionally, when I discontinued the Kava Kava, I went through a 10 day withdraw where I was a weepy mess, hot flashing, insomnia and moody. Please do your research and read up not just on the good things but what are the side effects, long term effects, and unintended consequences of this supplement. ... show more

    • Great for Relaxation - Better than Melatonin
I have trouble sleeping and I have turned to Melatonin in the past, but for some reason, no matter what brand I try, have headaches in the morning, and it causes restless leg syndrome. I know that is weird, but my daughter says she has gotten the restless leg also. I found out about Kava when I was looking for help with anxiety (which really turned out to not be anxiety - long story), but I did find that when I took the Kava at night, i slept all night and woke up so refreshed! Even with the melatonin, I would toss and turn some, but this has been an amazing improvement!
