Learning to make creme caramel, brule, etc. I needed a "bain marie" and this one works perfectly. Cleaning issue is related to my inept cooking method where I ended up burning the caramel sugar onto the bottom of the ramekins which then needed boiling water to dissolve and clean. It's attractive and easy to use, highly recommended!

My first time making creme brûlée’s were with this set. They are deep enough, and the frame keeps them off the bottom of the water bath. Great gift for a budding dessert chef.

I have made creme brulee before, but decided to buy this set. It makes it so easy to make a nice dessert for company, mostly in advance. A little tip if you don't have a tea kettle: I put the rack with the empty cups in the metal pan and pour water in to cover the cups halfway up. Then take the rack out and pour the water in a pan and bring to a boil while making the creme brulee. Make your creme brulee and pour it into the ramekins in the rack. Then pour the boiling water into the empty metal pan and place the rack with the full ramekins into the pan. If you have a tea kettle, this would be a lot easier! The metal pan can be used for cakes or whatever, but I keep everything together in the original box. I use a recipe that makes 6 and there is a line inside the ramekins that shows you how far to fill them. Look for a recipe that contains Amaretto. Yum! Oh, and you don't need to buy a torch. After refrigerating, put the rack in the empty pan, sprinkle with brown sugar and broil for a few minutes.
