  • Thing is awsome
Works great for VW steering knuckles. Alot better than the oem tool

  • Works great, wish the design was slightly different.
I do a lot of work on balljoints and struts/steering knuckles so decided to buy this. I used it on a few Volvos and realized that because the inner edge of the curved section is tapered, it makes the tool want to naturally slide off when it vibrates from hammer impact and whatnot. So you constantly have to pick the tool up from the ground, set it back up, etc. You'll have the same issue if you attempt to over-tighten it, it will just slide right out from the opening. You have to find the "sweet spot" and then it functions very well. I am still giving this a good rating considering the cost of it, functionality, and build quality. The double sided design is a nice touch, and it feels very solid and durable to use. Mine has hit the ground from 4'-5' about 10 times and it's still perfectly usable with no dents or bends. A good addition to the toolbox. ... show more

  • makes strut removal/install easy
this fits my 2013 VOLVO S60 front steering knuckle perfectly. No hammering is needed to remove and install the strut with this tool.

  • Didn't work for me
Nice design just not strong enough. This thing snapped the first time I used it. I used a wrench, no impact, Back to using a chisel and hammer. Save your money

  • Worked ok for '05 545i E60
The bolt used to expand the tool sits too close to the steering knuckle (basically flushed). So, at some point during expansion, there is not enough clearance for the wrench to get on the bolt head. I did use the open end of the wrench at this point, but it was unable to be fully seated on the bolt head due to clearance which increases the risk of stripping. The tool ultimately started to tilt out of position due to the open end of the wrench making some contact with the steering knuckle while turning. After a series of turning and hammering the tool back in place with a 3lb hammer, it did work. If the bolt was a half inch longer or so, it would have been perfect. It seems to be a well-made tool though and it still did make the job easier. ... show more
