The beach glass colors are all so appealing. The cobalt blue is a lovely soothing color. I nearly deducted a star because the ukulele was initially so difficult to tune...it was frustrating and tedious. Once the strings settled in after a couple days, the tuning is quite stable. The ukulele is heavy, and the plastic seems durable. It can be left around for easy access without worrying about damage. It has a bit of a low hollow sound, which I don't mind. The action is high, especially past the fifth fret, but it's very playable. I figured I was just purchasing a novelty item but for the price and the pleasure it brings, it's a great value.

So I ordered this on a whim last week and have been playing this Ukulele since it arrived. I have to say I am really happy with this little Ukulele. Pros: Great sound and tone from a plastic Ukulele. It is actually a little mellower than my Martin Concert believe it or not! Clear Sea Glass look is cool and looks great came with quality stings out of the box and have yet to replace them. I think I will keep this set on for a while. Action right out of the box is pretty good. It is a little higher than preferred once you get up to the higher frets but for the price, It is way better than I expected. I will probably shave down the bridge a bit in the near future. for this price point I feel comfortable making this adjustment on my own. This little thing feels like it can take a beating and I have no hesitation traveling with it to the beach or bon fires. I installed a strap button on the bottom without issue as well. (take your time by starting with your smallest gauge bit and work your way up) Cons: I hate that they had to sticker the inside. The sound hole is too small for me to remove it seems. When I do a string change, I might take a hair dryer to is and see if I can get it out of the sound hole. Tuning is a bit of a bear. you have to be patient and just continue to let the strings stretch and settle. After about 4 days it seems that only the high G has to be tuned each play but it is getting better. The bridge was not notched for strings. I have a small $20 guitar tool set that I can use to fix this next string change. I hear a little buzz on the E but it is barely noticeable. Over all I would totally buy another Waterman Soprano. It was a great addition to my Ukulele Collection and plays like none of my other Ukuleles.

there are much better plastic or laminate ukes in a similar price range (Enya hasn't missed for me yet). cool idea, but the action is set too high, so the intunation is off past the 3rd fret. if it's a toy, just advertise it as a toy and musicians can move on - but i guess i overestimated the kala brand here. i contemplated changing the generic aquila strings to something fluorocarbon to see if it helped... but the problem is really with the bridge height and the nut height. not an easy fix on a plastic uke. also not worth the hassle at the price. no matter how many times i tuned it, the strings didn't seem to stretch to hold tune for any length of time. even if strings solved the intunation issue, its another $5+ investment and the time it takes to change strings. nice concept, but i'd move on and scoop up the enya nova u (i own 2 - soprano and concert) or save up a bit and invest in an outdoor ukulele (i also own 2 and they're great). i'm glad i gave one of these a shot to say i did and cross it off the wish list, but i'm returning it a few days after unboxing.

Sound quality is better than I anticipated but it is plastic so make sure you watch some youtube videos. It is very fun, the action is a bit high so I wouldn't recommend it as a first uke. It is higher quality than I expected for being plastic. I wish the tuning pegs were better for a "water-resistant ukulele" sealed tuning pegs would be better. Great travel uke

For the price this should be a LOT nicer!!!! -There is a rough chip around the sound hole. -The seal is rough and has bubbles in many places. -The inside label is a crappy sticker that is even uglier on the back where you can see a white ugly bubbly adhesive back of the sticker. -There is a solid/opaque line of green paint or something on the top side. No idea what that is!! IM SO SAD :(

I have three ukes and this is my travel version. I have also bought at least five more for grandchildren. They love the colors. Being plastic, these are pretty tough, even waterproof. More importantly, they hold their tuning!! I’m not suggesting these have the greatest sound but it’s pretty good. Keep your expensive ukulele for the living room and have one of these for the boat and the camping trip. Bonus: if it does get broken you get to try a different color when you replace it.
