Works well. Easy to install with simple tools. I’ve noticed a little more engine noise and harmonics from the driver seat when the engine is at idle. I feel it is definitely opened up a very choked down engine and intake system. Simply put, it did what it said it would do and is working well.

so got this out of the box and put everything assembled. took the stock air cleaner off my truck to find the hump hose at the turbo inlet does not fit the pipe that goes to the filter box. emailed tech support just to never hear from them. you would think for the money they would support their product!! ... show more

I bought one of these for my gas engine Chevy pick-up when I had it and didn't get more torque, but did get the fuel mileage back that was lost when I lifted the truck. I bought this one for my new Chevy and definitely saw an impact on power and mileage for my 2008 Chevy Duramax. Put it on and WOW, noticeable difference in torque and 2-3mpg improvement overall. I installed this yesterday on a GMC 3500, Diesel, Crew cab. I paid $50 less than Amazon.com by buying "used" on Amazon Warehouse Deals. The kit was missing two screws, four flat washers and three star washers. Everything else was included and had not been previously installed. The filter was still sealed in the plastic packaging and box. It even had the CARB sticker and plenty of K&N stickers that I won't use. The installation took me 60 minutes and I am NO mechanic. I'm also over forty, so a good part of the install required reading glasses (ERR!). I bought this kit, because I had installed a drop-in K&N filter into the factory housing, but it would not seal tightly. As a result, I was constantly getting a Mass Airflow Sensor fault code. My mechanic suggested a complete K&N system vice a drop-in K&N filter. It appears as though the fault code is gone. I have an Edge Computer, so it is easy for me to diagnose and reset any engine fault codes. It's only been installed a day and only time will tell if the problem reoccurs. What I can say is that this system is tight. The plastic tube hooks tightly to the engine and the filter hooks tightly to the tube. No "drop-in" system here. The "box" that the filter goes in is simply a heat shield and certainly does not fit airtight on install. There is one screw on the top of the heat shield that cannot be installed because it is obstructed by the radiator overflow canister. The top still fits tight enough with the other two screws, but I was kind of perturbed that there was one screw that had to be left uninstalled. The manufacturer states it should take 90 minutes to do this job. This product also guarantees 20 extra horses. I don't know if I'll ever be able to tell. My truck is crazy powerful, already. I will recommend this product until is screws up. Oh...and this is a lifetime filter. You just "recharge" it with a K&N cleaner and oil kit when it's dirty. ... show more

i installed this intake kit on my 2008 duramax yesterday very easy and quick install. noticed better throttle response right a way. ill be checking fuel millage in coming weeks. i run k&n filters in all of my vehicles and they are the best bang for the buck.
