  • Boosted Power and Efficiency!
Style: Roto-Molded
I've been a car enthusiast for years, and installing the K&N Cold Air Intake System on my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was one of the best mods I've done. Right out of the box, the quality is evident – the high-flow air filter and heat shield are built tough, and the installation was straightforward with clear instructions, taking me about an hour in my garage. The real magic happens on the road. Performance-wise, there's a noticeable increase in horsepower and torque; acceleration feels smoother and more responsive, especially when merging onto the highway or towing my boat. It's like the engine breathes easier, delivering that extra punch without any lag. And let's talk fuel mileage – I've seen a solid 2-3 MPG improvement on my daily commutes and longer trips, which adds up quickly at the pump. Paired with the throaty intake sound under throttle, it just makes driving more fun overall. If you're looking to enhance your vehicle's performance and save on gas without breaking the bank, the K&N Cold Air Intake is a no-brainer. Highly recommended for any truck or car owner! ... show more

Installed on 2018 suburban 5.3 v8. Super easy install. Everything is good quality. Sounds really good and can tell I have better throttle response.

  • Works perfect with the 2015 Silverado 5.3
Style: Roto-Molded
This thing is awesome! Works perfect! Sounds awesome! Didn't even mess with the computer. I put it on my 2015 Silverado and I think I have gained 20 horsepower. Love this thing! Sounds great with my dough exhaust

  • Easy to install, love the sound
Style: Roto-Molded
Installation: Easy to install but for the emissions hoses I did upgrade to (2) brass 5/8" barb to 1/4" NPT and added my own (4) worm gear hose clamps (get the size that goes from 0.5" to 1.25"). Really a shame that K&N is too cheap to provide these. On the 6.2L the hose coupler to the throttle body seems too large but the clamps are able to secure it in place. Install instructions are clearly written, have photos, and are easy to follow though they don't really tell you which tool to use where in the process. Function: Amazing so far. Really throaty growl from the intake when you start accelerating. I have a Borla cat-back that this intake complements well. Loud in a good way. Throttle response is noticeably better. I am not expecting massive horsepower gains but the Dyno test K&N did showed about a 14 HP gain. I recommend this if you want to improve air flow into your engine and get a nice mean sound. Worth the money to me. I got the plastic roto-molded version because the Black Hawk is slightly more restrictive material and the metal intake conducts heat vs plastic which insulates. ... show more

  • Great intake, PVC fittings suck
Style: Metal Intake
Overall this intake is great, it was a very simple straight forward install and fit my 2018 5.3 z71 perfectly. It is definitely a noticeable difference, you can hear the air being sucked in through the cone filter and it wakes your engine up. The one thing that I didn't like about this product is the hose fittings for the PVC hoses to the intake tube. The fittings are plastic and cross thread easily and can break or loosen, along with the threads in the tube are nuts welded on to a hole that is size for size so while one side the fitting went in fine the other stopped thread engagement because the hole in the tube was slightly off form the hole in the nut. I had to take a drill that was just under the thread size and drill thru a little bit so my fitting would screw in. After that my fitting screwed in but was loose from cross threading in prior attempts. I ended up buying new stainless fittings to replace the plastic ones it came with. Also it did not come with hose clamps for the PVC lines. I'm a mechanical guy so I was able to figure all of this out and make it work but someone who doesn't know how to wrench would have been in for a headache. ... show more

  • Nice job, K&N
Style: Metal Intake
This is the third intake I've tried on my 2015 Silverado 5.3L. The first one was an SLP Blackwing that was so loud, I eventually took it off. It sounded good, but just way too much for me. Next I tried the Airaid MIT which is just the tube. Nice improvement in low-end feel, and noticeable small boost in high RPM power, but little to no sound over stock. Lastly, this K&N unit which seems to be the best of the three... The tube has a chrome-ish finish and looks nice. I noticed an immediate improvement in low-end throttle response, same as with the Airaid. The tires now want to break loose when accelerating out of a corner, which was not happening with the stock box. The sound is good, pretty much non-existent during cruising, but moderate to heavy throttle produces a satisfying growl that is nowhere near as obnoxious as the SLP unit. Sounds like a truck now, and nicely complements my OEM Borla muffler system. Overall very pleased with this, I'm planning to stick with this one. Truck runs fine, no check engine lights or anything. I am not exactly sure why the SLP was so loud, but the differences are that it had a plastic tube (which is an option on the K&N as well), and also the surround for the filter element was basically a plastic tub, instead of only two-sided metal like the K&N. I must assume that the plastic pieces just produced more resonance and volume... ... show more

  • 2019 5.3L Chevy Tahoe K&H Next Gen Cold Air Intake Install - Not Good
Style: NextGen Intake
I installed the NextGen model on my 2019 5.3L Tahoe Texas Edition SUV. Very disappointed with form and fit for this unit. It was very difficult to get the air box into position and required removal of a corner brace to do so. The remainder of the install was going as planned until it was time to connect the cold air pipe between the throttle body and the air box. It simply did not fit. It was about 1.5 inches too long. In order to make it work required trimming a little more than an inch of the pipe on the air box end. Luckily, it is made of plastic and there was enough smooth material left on the box end of the pipe to allow engagement of the band clamp. In the end the installation was successful but not pleasant. I could not find any reviews of the NextGen model air intake at all. Am I the first? ... show more
