I bought this K&N Cold Air Intake System for my husband’s Nissan Maxima as a Christmas gift, and it turned out to be one of those presents he actually got excited about installing right away. Right after installation, he noticed better throttle response and a smoother feel when accelerating. The engine sounds a bit more open and sporty, but not overly loud or annoying. It just feels more responsive and alive on the road. We also noticed a slight improvement in gas mileage and overall fuel performance, especially during highway driving. I honestly hesitated quite a bit on this purchase. I read so much information about whether these things provided any useful increase in power and/or increased mileage. I must tell you I could find both positive and negatives online. What sold me was seeing a similar one installed on a Lexus. It sounded great and increased the power, at least it felt so. I have to tell you, the dang instructions are horrendous. They seem like they really tried but missed key components in the write up. My biggest challenges were things like you have to remove the rubber grommets from the holes that help the air box in place and then place the washers and giant rubber bolt things in the corresponding holes. Be prepared for a challenging final bracket. I couldn't figure out how to install it on the pipe then the throttle body which would have made things a lot simpler. There are a ton of parts. Sort them out first. Match them as best as you can to the awful diagram. That'll help a bit. Be patient and go online and watch tutorials. As to performance, eh I feel like it works. I have been really pushing it so I can't speak to mileage. I love the sound. When you step on the gas, it roars. Otherwise it's fairly quiet. Enjoy! Be prepared for 1-2 hours for a nice slow correct installation unless you are a full time mechanic and know how it all goes in. After the first time I imagine I could install this in less than an hour. Finally keep your factory air box. You might one day sell your can and someone will assuredly purchase this from you. ... show more

The instructions that came with it isn't too clear because it's black and white but it still helped with the pictures and also you can find videos on YouTube for installation. With both its doable . Works great for my 2013 Maxima. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the instructions are kinda hard to read and understand. I had to use a mixture of the included instructions and the video. I dont notice any power difference but I really bought it for the sound. And that alone to me makes it worth it ... show more

Very happy with product. Installation was a breeze, except for one bolt, but patience and extension to your socket wrench will take care of that. Sounds louder but only under hard acceleration, so if you keep it under 2500 rpm it is still a nice quiet ride. This is understandable as the kit replaces the resonator box that came with original intake. Noticeable change in power when you floor it, and when passing. Actually getting slightly better gas mileage too. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a little more power, defiantly best bang for your buck. ... show more

Fantastic performance gain on a 2016 Nissan Maxima. Nice deep throttle sound, improved throttle response, and wide open throttle is screaming good! Noticeable HP gain. No installation issues, took about 1hr 45min from start to finish. Highly recommend if your looking for a more sporty sound and extra HP in your Maxima. This is the 3rd car that I have installed a K&N Intake on. Yes, it is not the cheapest, but you cannot beat the quality of the product. ... show more

Installed this on my 2018 Nissan Maxima. Look people, you aren’t gonna magically get a ton of power from one of these... BUT, you will feel/hear a serious difference in performance and sound. Updated- I called K&N back and without hesitation the part is being shipped out. Maybe I spoke with some new but they are making it right. I will update my review once it is installed. Finally received the missing part after 6 weeks due to an out of stock. My maxima is a beast now!! Apparently the intake I received had been returned (2 layers of tape) and I didn’t realize it and started the install to realize I was missing a connector hose. I called K&N and requested the part to get told I would need to fill out a form and wait roughly 10 more days to get the missing hose. The instructions are terrible but the install went smoothly until it didn’t. Waste of 4 hours. I can’t speak to the performance since I did not get to use it. What a let down to say the least. ... show more
