The book offers a total of 40 different rides around Ohio. We have found the rides and information to be excellent. I like that each ride usually has some type of point of interest on the route, be it a lake, river, covered bridges, etc. The directions have been good. We typically make a copy of the pages for the ride we plan to do and take that along. My wife and I have set a goal to try do as many of the rides as possible. I am new to Ohio, and this book has helped me explore some roads and towns I would have never thought to explore. Routes range from very easy to somewhat challenging, being an avid cylist. I usually manually copy the routes to my computer and export them to my gps so that I have turn by turn directions. The maps and cue sheets are easy to read and the author includes background information about the area. Most routes have very little car traffic. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys riding a road bicycle. For future editions an accompanying cd with gpx files for the routes would be a nice touch. ... show more

    • Good Motivation to get out there and ride!
Our adult kids (who think we are crazy) got this for my wife for Mothers Day. So far we have been on 3 of the routes (specifically 3 rambles). The nice thing about the book is that it makes us want to get out there and ride in places we didn't know about. It would be great if there was a companion website or forum where riders could download one-page maps and/or post their own reviews of the different routes. Since Ohio has so many bike paths I expected it to be mostly on the paths - but it seems to be more on low-traffic roads. I mean really low-traffic roads so my wife and I are able to ride side-by-side most of the time. I use an app called Runtastic Road Bike which allows me to enter the routes so they are on my smart phone for use with the GPS. These can be shared with other riders who use the app also. ... show more

This books is a wonderful guide for bicyclists who like to get off the beaten path and visit some of the lesser known places in Ohio. I am delighted by the points of interest listed along the way as well as a little folklore about the surrounding communities.
