  • Good sound (both for input and output,) and comfy to boot!
Color: Gen 2 Black
(~3 year update: though my first pair still works perfectly well, I purchased a second pair for travel. These are a great gaming headset option and I'd highly recommend them!) ---- First: the main complaint people have about these actually appears to be caused by the user failing to charge them. Yes, they are wired (auxiliary vs. Bluetooth) headphones, and many wired headphones don't require charging to fully work... But these have 'standard' and 'powered' modes, and the latter will drain the internal battery after a few long sessions, after which they automatically revert to the 'standard' mode. In 'standard' mode, they work perfectly fine for output, but the microphone doesn't work well; others can hardly hear you (if they can hear you at all.) In the 'powered' modes (Xbox or PS,) the output is amplified, frequency response improves dramatically, and the mic becomes super crisp. I do find the Xbox vs PS switch perplexing; both modes work (for both out- and input) with my Xbox Series X, but I actually find the PS mode provides better sound for me. There are also dials above the 'mode switch' for both the output and microphone volumes. Once dead, they don't take a terribly long time to re-charge, and I even found that if they happen to die while I'm in a party, I can simply use my extra long USB-C phone charger to plug them in and continue to use the 'powered.' So, while the need to charge them is a slight annoyance, I really like that I don't have to stay on top of it to make sure they don't die. They are very lightweight and comfortable; as someone with a smaller head, I've found many headsets will end up either gradually slipping off, or feeling so heavy that I get a headache over time. Not so with these! I can even wear thick-rimmed blue light blocking glasses without issue. The headband has supple pleather cushioning, and the ear cups are cushy and lined with fine mesh. When not in use, the ear cups will fold out so as to flatten, making it easy to put them in a case if you're going somewhere. All in all, for the price I'd say these are exceptional gaming headphones. I've had both generic headsets ~$15 cheaper than these, and specialty headsets that were at least double the price... And these far outrank both. I'd absolutely recommend them, along with a 10ft USB-C cable just in case you find out mid-game that you forgot to re-charge them ;) ... show more

  • Worth the price
Color: Gen 2 White
I’ve been using the Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gen 2 for a couple weeks now, and I’m honestly pretty happy with it. The sound is super clear, and the bass boost gives it a nice extra punch, especially during action-heavy games. It’s also surprisingly comfortable—I wear glasses and didn’t feel any pressure even after long sessions. Mic quality is solid for party chat, though it picks up some background noise if the room isn’t quiet. Just a heads-up: you do need to charge it to get the full sound features, but it still works without power (just not as strong on the bass). For the price, it’s a great headset that does the job well. Would recommend it if you want something reliable without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • Great Sound, Strong Bass, and Still Working Perfectly
Color: Gen 2 Black
I’ve had these headphones for a while now and they’ve never given me a single issue. The sound quality is clean, the bass and vibration effects are dope, and they still work just as good as the first day I got them. They’re comfortable, durable, and definitely worth the price. I also like that they come with the option to switch between Xbox and PC audio, which makes them even more versatile. Highly recommend these for gaming or everyday use. ... show more

  • Great Budget Gaming Headset with Solid Bass Boost – Comfortable for Long Sessions
Color: Gen 2 Black
Picked this up as an upgrade from a cheaper generic headset for my Xbox Series X, and it’s been a solid performer for the price (around $50). The amplified audio with the always-on bass boost really shines in games—explosions in shooters feel punchy, footsteps are clear, and the overall sound is immersive without being muddy. The variable mic monitoring is a nice touch; I can hear myself without shouting, and the flip-to-mute mic picks up my voice cleanly for party chat—no complaints from friends. Comfort is a big win here. The updated memory foam ear cushions (with that athletic fabric) keep things cool during marathon sessions, and the ProSpecs design is genuinely glasses-friendly—no pressure points even after 4+ hours. Lightweight build helps too, though the plastic feels a bit entry-level (not flimsy, but not premium either). Battery lasts a solid 12-14 hours with amplification on (longer than advertised in my use), and it charges in about 2 hours via USB-C. Huge plus: when the battery dies, it still works in passive mode for basic audio—no dead headset mid-game. A few minor gripes keep it from 5 stars: • Some sound leakage at higher volumes—people nearby can hear what I’m playing. • The mic can be overly sensitive at max monitoring (picks up breathing/keyboard clicks). • No real surround sound processing, but for this price, it’s not expected. Overall, excellent value—Amazon’s Choice for a reason, especially if you’re on Xbox, PS5, or multi-platform. Beats most sub-$60 options hands down. 4 stars: does what it promises really well, with only small trade-offs. Would grab another if this one ever gives out! ... show more
