  • Great for pocket pets
Style: Heated Pad
I purchased this item for my hairless rat. It was the perfect item as it provided heat when he sat on it and never became too hot or hurt his delicate skin. I highly recommend this item for small animals! Luckily the item was durable and the metal cord was not chewed on, and it was a safe addition to my rat cage for multiple years ... show more

  • Very good heat source for newborn rabbits.
Style: Heated Pad
Was very grateful for this little heat mat this past week. One of my rabbits had a litter just days before a hard freeze. The barn does not have heat, but we don't get many freezes during the year. I buried the heating pad under some straw in the nesting box and drilled a hole at the back to run the cord. The cord is very sturdy and so far, chew proof. This kept the kits alive and hopping. Very easy and inexpensive fix. Otherwise I would have to bring the cages into the garage and set up a heater, which gets pretty messy after a few days. The heat seems to be consistent and the kits love it. ... show more

  • Skinny Pig Approved!
Style: Heated Pad
Our hairless guinea pig, UnHarry, was getting a bit chilled when the winter weather finally made it to Texas. I bought this to keep his little toes warm and it works perfectly. He can’t chew it or the wires. It’s water proof. It’s kept him warm in his pigloo. I ended up buying a second one for his elderly guinea pig friend who kept stealing the heating pad. Very happy with the product. ... show more

  • Just right…
Style: Heated Pad
We have two cats that showed up one day, not at the same time, and the wife an I have been taking care of since. I made two covered beds for outside use and put the heating pads inside. They are not too hot and the cats like them a lot in the winter and cold months. We will continue to buy this product if these finally stop working. Just a heads up.. we have had one of these heat pads for over 5 years. ... show more

  • Updated review chicks ducks
Style: Heated Pad
Update: This heat pad ended up working excellent for my baby chickens. They all preferred it over the booder plate. After my original review I realize these react to weight or an animal laying on it which in the case of my disabled Ducks is not a bad thing. I discovered three different versions of this same item. The pictures of the animals are different. This one has chicks Another one has like a rabbit and the most recent I think a cat. only its the exact same 9 x 12 hard shell plate. For different prices, and some have some pretty horrible reviews, and I finally came to the conclusion that these plates were not sealed properly or had damage and that’s why people had incidents of melting. ( maybe the cheaper ones marketed for a different animal are a bad batch or something I don’t know) Which brings me to my current dilemma. I ordered a second pad literally just opened the box took it out and it’s very clearly not sealed the glue looking stuff that they go around the edges with was very well sealed with my first pad and that’s why I’ve been able to use it with my two disabled ducks. They can’t move or control their temperature like healthy Ducks. I don’t have a heated garage the current pad we have has literally probably saved them from getting frostbite. The second pad was because they are big ducks, and my girl who can move slowly would push him off. It only we’re getting snow tomorrow and I’m stuck unable to use this brand new pad because it’s very clearly not sealed and I can’t risk it with my babies. I’m gonna try to look up the kind of glue they use, but that’s obviously some thing down the road and won’t help me tonight. ... show more

  • Not an adequate heat source for day old chicks
Style: Heated Pad
This is a good product but I would not recommend it as the only heat source for very young chicks. We bought a heat plate from rentacoop but it wasn’t arriving until late in the evening on the day we were getting our chicks so I ordered this to have in the brooder for the meantime. We had our heat turned up, had a space heater in the room and put this heat pad in the brooder. The chicks were obviously too cold, they were all huddled together, chirping like crazy while laying on the pad. When we added in the heat plate once it arrived they were much quieter and happier. They are about 2 and a half weeks old now and they still sleep under the heat plate but they enjoy having the heat pad. In the morning they all like to lay on it, cuddled together with the morning sun shining on them. We will also keep it in our coop once they transition out of the brooder. It warms up quickly and is relatively easy to clean though chick poop really sticks badly to everything. We just keep a single paper towel layer over it so it doesn’t get covered in poop constantly. It can be unplugged and scrubbed off with soap if necessary which is nice. It also has holes in each corner if you wanted to secure it to the floor of your brooder or a place inside of your coop. I would recommend it as a second heat source if you’re using a heating plate instead of a heat lamp (they make me nervous so we went with the plate.) I don’t think it would be necessary if you do choose to use a heat lamp. It would also be a good heat source for inside of a coop but it’s only big enough for one adult chicken. Our 5 chicks all fit comfortably on it and it’s probably big enough for close to 10 chicks. It seems to be well made and very durable. ... show more

  • K&H heating pad
Style: Heated Pad
Industry standard for heating my chicks and feral cats. Made to withstand the elements. I have many of these, all seem to last. Construction is great, even water doesn't appear to hurt them.
