I bought this hose and sent back another because it was "supposed" to work under continuous pressure 3 times what our water pressure ever is. It was used on a covered porch to water plants but there still was significant sun exposure which might have contributed to its failure. It lasted about 2 months less than 3 years. Since the warranty is 10 years they are replacing it. See the photo of the rupture. There is also a bulge. I have patched it but will replace it as soon as the new one arrives and hopefully before the bulge turns into a rupture. This was hopefully a fluke but I changed my rating to a 4 since the company was very responsive and is standing behind their 10 year warranty. ... show more

My setup is as follows. I think the filter should go as close to the RV city water inlet. The reasoning is that the hoses may harbor mold, bacteria, whatever. So, At the water faucet I connect a pressure reducer, then a wye adapter - this allows a second hose, then a 25 ft hose - of I need a longer hose, I attach a second 25 ft hose, then a filter, then the hose in this listing - this gets me into my wet bay, it is nice to have one, then a 90 degree fitting, and that screws into the city water inlet. This short hose is perfect. If you don't have a wet bay you can attach the filter directly to the 90 degree fitting or still the above house or even a short 6 inch stress relieving hose. At the faucet end I might use a 90 degree fitting depending on the exit angle of the faucet. My idea is to have the hoses be vertical rather than attach horizontal. Some folks use quick releases at every join. I haven't, so far. The biggest question is if your water pressure hurt by the ½ diameter of this hose. I've gone ½ inch diameter for my entire setup and pressure inside seems fine. I typically don't have multiple faucets, shower, external shower or toilet running at the same time. I bought this because it has a short female hose connector that works with reel storage devices. It is not kink-proof but better than other 1/2" hoses I've experienced. Flow is adequate and what I expect for diameter-length.

I'm using this as a backup hose for my travel trailer when I go camping. It works perfectly, but the diameter of the hose is substantially smaller than all my other hoses, which means that if and when it does spring a leak at the connectors, I can't repair it; I'll just need to throw it out.
