I read the review for this item and it was mentioned that it was too bright for some people (me) even when dimmed. I keep all of my lighting in the house not on full tilt, I find it too bright for me. The price was very good, I had been considering one from Shades Of Light but it wasn't available and was $300...big difference!!! I do wish the bulb was not visible that may have helped deter the brightness. We bought a dimmer, not a cheap one, but it didn't really dim it at all. We will buy a more expensive dimmer, one that can handle what we need. All in all, for the money it is very attractive and I think once we can control the light with a better dimmer it will be perfect and I can smile when thinking of the money I saved. We found no flickering before or after changing the dimmer switch. ... show more

A little disappointed.. the light became very loose where the bar goes across to the base, and now the light hangs slightly down on one side.. beautiful light.. but not bright enough, the light is too yellow for a bathroom.
