We are complete newbies at engraving/laser cutting. Bought this as an entry point into personalizing stuff for gifts and groups we are in. Super easy to set up, had my 16 yr old son do it from start to finish. Came packed very well, everything in cushioned compartments. Took him approximately 3 hours to assemble, download the freeware program, and make his first test image. The wood in the picture is just a test square, the lines you see are part of the wood and not the engraver. Should be noted that there's software required to use this, but the free program worked great and was really easy to install. This thing is huge and take up a lot of space, but that means it has a super large printing area. A couple of the instructions were translated a bit awkwardly, but he followed it from beginning to end. Best of all, I didn't have to help at all! Should be noted that this probably isn't a kids toy, should be done with adult supervision, and the process of engraving is essentially burning the wood with a laser. So some odors to be expected, will likely transfer to the garage for plastics or anything else. Can't wait to play with it more, kind of like a label maker but way cooler. Everything is getting engraved!

The JOY SPOT! Laser Engraver Machine is such a fun, easy tool to use! Assembly is required but the manufacturer provides detailed step-by-step instructions for ease of construction. I appreciate that all parts were divided into baggies to help keep the "machine building" organized. Installing the software is quick and a visual guide is included to ensure successful setup. Different materials are included to use for practice on the machine. The photo that's included in the review is my very first project. The results exceeded my expectations. I'm excited to keep creating!

Idk how people have such good reviews, easy as pie to set up, but the wheels don’t have any way to tighten the grip on the track and it wouldn’t hang flush. I returned this and will not repurchase. After contacting tech support, I got no answers. It’s worthless if I cant tighten the tracks

The JOY SPOT! laser engraver exceeded my expectations. It's so fun to create laser designs and watch your projects come to life. It was easy to set up, the amazon video was super helpful. The program was easy to download and quickly learn. It even comes with a chart so you know what info to input into the program for each material. I can't wait to keep exploring different materials!

We had misgivings about ordering this but wow are we happy we did. Didn't take long to put together and the directions for installing the software was easy to follow.

Can't beat it for the price. If you can operate a cricut or silhouette this is a breeze. Software is super simple. Way easier than plotters. The assemble takes a second to figure out cause its a little vague but Had it up and running in no time though. Looking forward to learning all the modes. Lots of helpful instruction out there.
