  • Great machine!
Size: 10W Advanced Bundle
I have the S1 40w, which has always been my workhorse. Lately though, I've used my M1 Ultra far more. It's very versatile.

  • LOVE… But not without issues.
Size: 10W Premium Bundle
I love this machine—it's ready to go right out of the box, and you'll be up and running on day one. That said, regular maintenance is crucial. You'll need to clean it frequently—daily, or even more often depending on your projects. The included fan technically works, but it consistently triggered filter replacement errors after just 1–2 hours of use. I ended up replacing it with an inline fan, which added about $200 to the overall cost. While the original fan was functional, it didn’t ventilate well—I noticed more fumes and smoke, and one of my cats had an allergic reaction. The inline fan solved those issues, though it is significantly louder, it can be controlled manually to reduce the noise. Maintenance of the laser unit itself can be tedious. Cleaning the lens and cap is simple, but I didn’t expect to have to remove the housing to access the internal fan blades. That was a surprise and added more effort to the upkeep. Despite these maintenance demands, I truly enjoy using my M1 10W Ultra. Still, I wish I had done more research and opted for the 20W model. If I choose to upgrade— it costs $600+ more. ... show more

  • Bit of a rant~ Love the machine, but one major flaw
Size: 10W Premium Bundle
The machine itself works well overall, and most of the hiccups I have had are due to the learning curve. One major flaw is the “Snapshot” feature. It is advertised as a replacement for cameras in the machine, supposedly letting you line up projects with precision, but it simply does not deliver. Even after calibration and a lengthy back and forth with support, it never lines up perfectly. It is fine for rough placement, but if you are trying to cut around a design or make a second pass with accuracy, it is always just a little off. That is frustrating because the big selling point of this machine is its versatility with vinyl cutting, printing, and more. Without reliable alignment, one of its most useful features is unreliable when you need accuracy. ~update~ After I posted this review, support reached out and opened at ticket with me. We were working to resolve the issues I was having with the Snapshot feature and I was told I would need to accept a "small margin of error" or use the crosshairs, instead of one of their major features. The issue I am experiencing with the snapshot feature is, in my opinion, way more than "small" as I've had entire sections of projects be cut off when attempting to use the feature. xTool describes the feature as such: "10x More Accurate Than Single-Camera Achieve perfect results with Snapshot Preview and Pin-point Positioning™ system - powerful, 10 times more accurate than the single-camera system, and easy to use." Also, while working with support I was trying to recreate an issue I was having to send screenshots and the ticket was just closed randomly. I suppose it was taking too long, so instead of reaching back out they just closed the ticket. Who knows. (Also, I have poked around on reddit and no one else has had any luck with this feature so it is not just me, but I might be the most upset about it) I would prefer to not have to use a work around, and am a little salty that they just closed the ticket. Because of that I am taking my review from 3 stars to 2 stars All in all, I do really like the machine. I think it is a great place to start if you are getting into laser cutting, and do not already own a Cricut or something similar. I will say I primariliy use the laser module, and after owning this one if I had known what I do now, for what I use it for not the issues I've had with the snapshot feature, I would have preferred a different machine because of what materials I have learned I am interested in working with. I have never owned any type of cutting machine, so as a first experience it was great to play with a bunch of mediums to figure out what I like. No regrets in the purchase, just lessons learned. (I also think I have learned I would much prefer live cameras in the machine) I've worked mostly wood, glass, and paper cutting (with the laser head and it does SUCH a good job!) I thought I would use the "Cricut" side of things more (making shirts, decals, etc.), and I just have not done so yet, but I am glad to have the option to do it if I wanted to. I don't think the print quality is the great with the inkjet printing module, but I haven't played with it too much so maybe I need to give it another shot. But the YouTube videos I've seen on it are eh. I've calmed down a little after writing up the good things, so I am going to leave it at a 3, but I would probably give it a 4 or maybe even a 5 if I had not had the issues with the snapshot feature. It is a solid product. I've included a few photos of things I've done/practicing with new materials. Again with the printing, I think if you were to do clip art or something that is a bit more one dimentional, it may work better. I tried it with an actual image and it didn't turn out the best. For the stencils the white ones were cut out of mylar with a blade and the yellow was cut out of cardstock with the laser. The butterfly was done with the laser. The kindle covers were laser, and foil tip transfer. I have done other projects, but am terrible about actually taking pictures. ... show more

  • Turn back now! Find another product
If you are looking for a laser cutting machine, don't get anything from this brand. It is hot garbage. For starters, it is barely functional as is. After you purchase the main unit you will discover that you need accessories in order for it to do the things it claims it can do. Even the accessories require accessories. For example, I had to buy an "air compressor assist" for $250 in order for it to efficiently cut wood and when it arrived only then did I learn I needed to buy a mounting kit for $30. And if you want it to turn on and off with cutter automatically as opposed to manually turning it on you need to buy a cable seperate from that for $8. Just put the whole package together for $300! Or better yet, sell the whole damn thing together so it works as advertised and put the proper price on it. WTH is this company doing? There has got to be better products out there but I'm already pot committed. I have to make this piece of trash work. Oh, also, their support is outsourced to India so expect to say "what?" a bunch if they even reach back out to you Don't be me. get out of this purchase ... show more

I've used it for a month now and have made some cool custom projects. It is pretty straightforward and intuitive. Every once in a while it doesn't cut in one pass. But that is okay.
