  • Accurate and built like a tank laser plus reliable Wi-Fi interface
I bought the Ortur Master 3 to create marquetry and inlay artworks made of wood veneers. It's 10W laser is more than enough to cut wood veneers. I used an addon for CorelDraw to do inlay, which demand high cutting accuracy, so I put this laser to the test. Accuracy is equal to an Epilog laser. The cut pieces assembled tight with no visible gaps. Diode laser cut wood veneer cleaner than CO2 laser. Backlash is so small not measurable with my gauge. It has air assist port which further reduces burnt mark. Wi-fi works great if Wi-Fi is set to 2.5 Gb/s because it was design for this rate. USB support is also reliable. One advantage of using diode laser vs. CO2 laser is the cut is more vertical, that is due to the diode laser beam has low dispersion angle compared to CO2 laser. Software such as LaserGRBL, LightBurn, ImagePaint addon for CorelDraw all works with this Ortur laser. One distinct feature in ImagePaint that no other software has is the ability for users to simulate the inlay (marquetry) artwork before cutting. Also ImagePaint automatically create cutter paths to compensate for laser Kerf and other technics to produce a perfect fit. This software costs $100US. You should download an try it on www.amazoncanvas.com. The pictures show the down-draft jig my friend built for me. It is 1.75 inches thick, 24 inches wide and 29 inches in length. The hose is 1.5" diameter and is attached to a shop vac to pull the smoke down, effectively reduce airborne smoke to about 95%, so I don't need to build or buy an enclosure for the laser. The honeycomb tray is make of steel which is great for using magnets to hold down the veneers. So, don't buy aluminum honeycomb tray. Overall, this is the best buy for the money. ... show more

  • Very good
Extremely good laser, very good durable construction of the assembly fantastic little tool. It's expensive but you get what you pay for this is the most bang for the buck if u can't afford a 3000$ one. Love it I've used it a few times to make some things for myself but it's the best laser for the money I bought a different brand laser not going to say which one but it was not the best didn't even engrave same wattage. I returned it and bought this one after asking on reddit for suggestions if I had to buy another one and I could afford to spend thousands it would be xtool but this brand is the best for price point. Love it and will continue to use it till it dies. Would buy another one this brand has very easy software to use with it but you must wear the glasses they give you or you WILL destroy your eyes. ... show more

  • Worked great…until it doesn’t. Buyer beware
Manual is crap, especially for troubleshooting and adjustments. Machine started jerking on the x axis during a burn. Lost an important job with no time to recover now. Tightened and dusted the belts, dealing with the incredibly stupid placement of the screws that prevent straightforward access to adjust. Won’t buy gain. Don’t recommend. Move several hundred dollars of materials that I won’t even be able to carve cause of this crappy machine. ... show more

  • Premium built
The media could not be loaded. Better than other laser. Like algo, daja and even xtool. Lightweight and very durable. It is felt on its build. No burrs and kinks. No dents at all. The packaging is very secure. All parts seems to be made and manufactured with high quality production. Cut quality, paint, assembly and appearance feels and looks very premium. User friendly with lots of video tutorials online. Would highly recommend this ortur product ... show more

  • Good Beginner Laser - Wifi App is Junk
*** Updated Review After a Couple Days *** Well, my review has gone from 2 stars to 4. Basically, the wifi app is garbage, doesn't connect, doesn't work, etc. BUT, if you just hook this thing up via USB, which is how it's really supposed to be used, I think, it is a REALLY cool machine. I was amazed at my ability to relatively quickly figure out how to do things in LightBurn with this machine. I have a slew of different scraps (as I do woodworking) and I had an excellent time once I got this machine up and running. I will say I have had some connection difficulties and freezing issues, but they were almost exclusively related to some console commands the support staff were giving me to try and get the wifi working. Given that the app looks sort of strange anyway, and LightBurn is very nice, I think I'll just pay for that and stick with the USB. I actually had such nice results that I went out and purchased a laptop to use with this machine to really get going. I am very enthused now and super pleased that I managed to get the thing working. It would be five stars for the value and experience if that Wifi app just didn't exist. They should have left that out completely until it was really working. Or maybe worked out some kind of USB module for it or something. Anyway, I would recommend this laser engraver / cutter if you are relatively tech savvy and don't mind putting things together. The build quality is really good. The laser is more powerful than I would have thought. I'd recommend buying a honeycomb bed to work on as well as air assist. The price of the LM3 is low enough (comparatively) that these extra accessories will be worth it and make this device even more functional. *** Original Review Below *** I cannot for the life of me get this thing working. I had some issues assembling it. They were my own fault, and I got them straightened out, but the tiny instruction booklet is written really strangely (I can't imagine why they didn't hire someone to translate this thing properly or just proof-read it). Once I got it all assembled and plugged in, I tried connecting it to the Laser Explorer app on my phone. I've been working on this for a couple hours with absolutely no success. I have no idea what's wrong. I cannot find any help online. At this point, it's looking like I'll have to purchase a separate computer to use this machine as it's not anywhere that's accessible for my current computer. Given that it's sold as having wifi, there is a developed Apple approved app for it, I just figured it would work. That I could, at the very least run a simple test of a shape or SOMETHING after assembling it. Nope. It will not connect at all. I have a bunch of 2.4 Ghz devices connected to my network, so that wouldn't seem like it was the issue and there is no other advice or troubleshooting available. Pretty disappointed at the moment and I'm feeling like I wasted 600 bucks on something that is not for beginners and doesn't function. I'm also disappointed in the reviews for not pointing out the true weirdness of the instructions and language. Maybe all budget laser manufacturers are like this… all I saw was how good a value it was for the money. It's not if it won't work, though. ... show more
