Might as well have gotten a cheap scotts. The cable wrap/ sheathing failed and collapses when you pull the handle so the trap door doesn't open. Because I'm just outside the 30 day return window, I can't return it. And they don't sell the part. So now I get to improvise and fix their crap product. Updating this as I called support and got a replacement. Same issue on the first use. The cable just gets stuck and hold the trap door partially open. Do not use and just spend the money on a spreader with a bar mechanism instead of a cable as it's not to much more. Especially when you realize that you would just waste your money on this ... show more

This product is quite expensive compared to other spreaders. You would think you would get a high end piece of equipment. I purchase a drop spreader previously from Jonathan Green same results. The cable and the hopper mechanism always jam/freeze up!. Also the gauge that you set the settings to the plastic window clouds up so you can barely see the settings. What's frustrating more so is..... after you put your application down your either to short or have to much of the product your trying to spread! ... show more

Do not buy this spreader! Looks high quality from pics but it is very low quality. The gears stripped after my first use with only 30 pounds of fertilizer. Save your money and buy an earthway spreader. Or buy a cheaper scotts spreader
