The Craftsman® Universal Power Sprayer is a consumer friendly sprayer that is effortless to use and eliminates pumping. The power wand is perfect to use for weed control, insect control and cleaning applications. The power wand is operational right out of the carton, no assembly required. The Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer comes standard with a patented dip-tube that fits on any standard 38mm ready-to-use refill bottle. Pumping days are over! The Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer is lightweight, durable and powered by 4-AA included batteries which will deliver up to 60 minutes of run-time. The convenient battery compartment built into the handle makes it quick and easy to replace 4-AA batteries. The integrated adjustable nozzle allows the customer to easily set the desired spray pattern from stream to cone in seconds. In stream mode the unit can spray up to ~20'. At the heart of the Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer is the specially designed 4.5V lightweight robust DC motor and specially designed chemical resilient gear pump. This motor-pump design is optimized to provide optimum performance in the wee, insect and cleaning applications. The Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer comes with an integrated locking trigger that allows the end-user to lock the sprayer "on" or squeeze on-demand depending on the application. Finally a product that is very useful & versatile! The lid will fit OK on a 1 gallon milk jug and that's what I've been using. Mix your chemicals in the jug and throw it away when your done. I keep another jug mixed with soapy water to clean the sprayer when I'm finished. It will spray 2 gallons before the batteries need changing out. If your going to be using the sprayer often I'd recommend getting rechargeable AA batteries, it takes 4. We have a big garden and yard. In the garden I've been using it as a foliar, insecticide and fungal sprayer. In the yard I've used it to spray insecticide and weed killer. Our house is a one story and gets that green algae on the siding. We have to power wash it once a year, it's an all day event. Late spring this year I sprayed a mild bleach solution on the house to keep the algae at bay and seems to be working as we have no algae. This took about 10 minutes and 2 gallons to spray the whole house. I'll do it again mid fall. What a time saver! When we cleaned the carpets, I used it as a pre-treater to spray many spots (dog and kids) before using the carpet cleaner machine. I'm sure there are more used that we haven't come across yet. Now for the cons. The sprayer wand is short and could be another 3 inches longer. The batteries are a little awkward to install. The hose could be 12"-18" longer. And lastly, I wonder how long this sprayer will last? I know I'm nitpicking now. For all the use I've gotten so far if it broke tomorrow I'd be happy. Who knows, it might surprise me and last years. After all it was under $9 and came with batteries. This sprayer works great and beats pumping or squeezing a spray bottle!!! ... show more

Shocked! I bought this not really expecting it to be that great since it was pretty cheap in price. But when I used it, I was shocked how great it worked. Very strong stream, very easy to use! The only thing I would have preferred is for the nozzle to be able to switch to a wider stream as well. But otherwise great purchase! ... show more

    • It's worth it if your gallon bug juice battery operated sprayer stops working

I could buy a new gallon bottle of Ortho with a battery sprayer for $16, or I could replace my broken sprayer for $8. It just stopped working one day. Since I still had 3/4 gallon left, buying the sprayer made more sense to me, so that's what I did. I wish the wand were a little longer, but since this Crafstman shoots so well, you really don't need it. It even came with 4 AA batteries, how sweet is that? This sprayer does a better job than the Ortho battery operated sprayer because it applies the insecticide more evenly. I'll probably buy an extra in case they stop selling this. Update: Love it so I bought another. I found a new use for the sprayer that I didn't expect. My wife decided to shampoo the carpets, and she needed to pre-treat some areas. A lightbulb went off, and I thought of this sprayer. I emptied and rinsed a gallon bottle and used this sprayer to lay down some carpet pre-treatment. The great thing is it sprays in a very controlled manner. It worked wonderfully for this. I'm definitely buying a third, since I could use a dedicated weed killer sprayer too.     • A good sprayer but watch out for chemicals with silicone added

The sprayer worked really well the few times I was able to use it. I have bad hands due to a number of problems and this sprayer is a god send. It takes so much pressure off the muscles and tendons in my hand. That said... I sprayed down a tent with a silicone waterproofing solution (Atsko - works great) and the sprayer did an excellent job but I sprayed the tent down while it was deployed in the field. Thus, I didn't have the opportunity to wash it out before the waterproofing spray dried. When I went to use it the next time, it didn't work. I soaked it for weeks in a cleaning solution but no dice. When I reassembled the sprayer, it didn't work. For $9, I suppose I shouldn't be too hard on craftsman as the tool did the intended job. I'd recommend this to others. Make sure you wash it out every time if you're going to use it to spray a chemical with a residual additive. ... show more

EDIT/UPDATE: I was wrong. It works pretty well as long as the fluid is no more viscous than water. The pesticide I was trying to spray Bioadvanced Carpenter & Termitr Killer Plus, was too thick for the sprayer to produce anything but a thin, weak stream. Otherwise, it shoots a pretty strong stream and the spray setting is very good. Cheap construction. Weak motor and the stream is not adjustable. ... show more

This really works great. Sprays a generous amount on the weeds. No pumping. Runs on batteries. I was very impressed. Weeds sprouting up in my rock driveway were taken care of with practically no effort. Sure beats the mess of pump sprayer I used to use.
