The Craftsman® Universal Power Sprayer is a consumer friendly sprayer that is effortless to use and eliminates pumping. The power wand is perfect to use for weed control, insect control and cleaning applications. The power wand is operational right out of the carton, no assembly required. The Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer comes standard with a patented dip-tube that fits on any standard 38mm ready-to-use refill bottle. Pumping days are over! The Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer is lightweight, durable and powered by 4-AA included batteries which will deliver up to 60 minutes of run-time. The convenient battery compartment built into the handle makes it quick and easy to replace 4-AA batteries. The integrated adjustable nozzle allows the customer to easily set the desired spray pattern from stream to cone in seconds. In stream mode the unit can spray up to ~20'. At the heart of the Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer is the specially designed 4.5V lightweight robust DC motor and specially designed chemical resilient gear pump. This motor-pump design is optimized to provide optimum performance in the wee, insect and cleaning applications. The Craftsman Universal Power Sprayer comes with an integrated locking trigger that allows the end-user to lock the sprayer "on" or squeeze on-demand depending on the application. In addition, the tool is smartly designed to fold into the wand making it convenient, safe and easy to store when not in use.

I bought this after having issues with the sprayer that comes with Ortho Home Defense, which seems to be a common issue. Per the instructions, I do flush it with water after using to prevent buildup and I also store it separately from the bottle. I don't need it often so not a hassle to do.     • It's worth it if your gallon bug juice battery operated sprayer stops working

I could buy a new gallon bottle of Ortho with a battery sprayer for $16, or I could replace my broken sprayer for $8. It just stopped working one day. Since I still had 3/4 gallon left, buying the sprayer made more sense to me, so that's what I did. I wish the wand were a little longer, but since this Crafstman shoots so well, you really don't need it. It even came with 4 AA batteries, how sweet is that? This sprayer does a better job than the Ortho battery operated sprayer because it applies the insecticide more evenly. I'll probably buy an extra in case they stop selling this. Update: Love it so I bought another. I found a new use for the sprayer that I didn't expect. My wife decided to shampoo the carpets, and she needed to pre-treat some areas. A lightbulb went off, and I thought of this sprayer. I emptied and rinsed a gallon bottle and used this sprayer to lay down some carpet pre-treatment. The great thing is it sprays in a very controlled manner. It worked wonderfully for this. I'm definitely buying a third, since I could use a dedicated weed killer sprayer too. Works PERFECT with Ortho Home Defense 1.33 gallon jugs!! Believe me, it is WAYYY better than the sprayer that comes with the Home Defense jug. Very easy to squeeze the trigger. Easier to install new batteries when needed. Better adjustable spray pattern, and definitely more power when spraying!! Fits in the hand nicely. I only gave it 4 stars due to price. I do believe it is slightly overpriced, but so is mostly everything these days I know..... My first one was $9.50 out the door. This one is closer to $15 :( ....... I am a repeat buyer. Comfortable, great stream. The wand that comes with the Round Up and Weed B Gon 5L tanks isn't very good. Trigger deteriorates and becomes impossible. Their wand uses only 3 batteries, need a screwdriver to replace batteries. Not true with this Craftsman. Pistol handle is comfortable, trigger is easy, 4 batteries produce a strong stream, lasts a long time, no screwdriver needed to replace batteries. The pump is so strong that the Weed B Gon container actually collapses inward. Keep the cap loose to let air in. Targets more than 18 feet away were easy to hit. If I had known about this sprayer, I would have started with it, added a general tank with translucent sides (to see liquid level; I've seen them online somewhere), and herbicide concentrate. My only complaint is that the spray tube is short. I gave feedback to craftsman.com about this, asking for a screw-on extension of 10 inches. Maybe other purchasers could give the same feedback? The nozzle can be adjusted to produce stream or cone shape. The directions, a bit obscure, are on the outside of the product box. Just tighten or loosen the nozzle to adjust the output shape. I bought one sprayer for my Weed B Gon container, I will buy another for my Round Up container. ... show more

OK. I waited a year to write this review because I fully did not expect this thing to work, but I love it. I use a 30% vinegar solution to spray on weeds in my yard. Over the past few years, I purchased several gallon-sized sprayers that invariably died on me because the rubber seals corroded or something equally annoying was destroyed by the acidity of the vinegar. It was a constant aggravation troubleshooting, searching for new parts, and repairing. Last year I bought this Craftsman sprayer and thought, “If it lasts only a year, it will still be cheaper than buying a new gallon-sprayer or spending a couple of hours troubleshooting, googling, and repairing.” Well, not only has it lasted a year, but also it’s easy to use and all I have to do is rinse it after each use. It screws directly on to the vinegar jug, does not require grip strength, is small, lightweight, can be stored anywhere, and is easy to care for. I have bought two of these. First one didn't last a year at some point the batteries drained and corroded and the sprayer went with it. It worked well enough I decided to try again, hopefully I managed to get this one to last more than a year. Compared the the stock sprayer this is more powerful and sprays more quickly in a steady stream instead of the weak pulse of the stock sprayer. ... show more
