It was actually a work of art on about 50 points of how it would fit together. ( I buy a lot of items that I have to assemble ) It was an extremely well thought-out design and assembly. The breakdown and professionalism of the drawings for assembly were not ideal but were better than most. An improvement would have been to number it's steps of procedure and to simply tell me what to do next. ( in my case English ) Kind sirs, I will soon buy another one. But you can double your sales though, by writing simple and easy instructions, like, hire someone to say it. Do this first, now do this, etc. ... show more

The Good This is a very good looking potting bench and super easy to assemble as the instructions are very clear. I think it only took me about 25 minutes to put together. The Bad(ish) I would have given it a 5 star rating, but there was so much styrofoam caked into the wood (pictured) and flying everywhere that I had to vacuum and wipe down every piece before assembly. I was able to get the styrofoam off of the wood with some wood polish and a rag. Some of the pieces had gouges in them (pictured) probably from transport, but fortunately they were on parts that are not visible when assembled. Also, the wood smell is very strong when you first open it (I actually kind of liked that). ... show more

It was fairly easy to assemble. I did spray on an addition coat of lacquer and I think it would need varnish if it was to be out in the rain. But I like it so much that I decided to keep it on my patio out of the weather.

Needed something to store items on the covered patio. This was affordable, it looks good, and was easy to put together. I assembled on my own. Like other reviews noted the wood is very soft. You don't need predrilled holes because the screws go right in. It's light weight, I wouldn't store heavy items in it, but it's stable and I can store accessories for my husbands smoker. I like the work space on top. If I wanted a place to pot outside I would consider this. I don't know how it will weather the elements, but it's currently in a covered area. Some reviews commented that the wood split when putting the screws in. I didn't have that happen, but can see how it would. Once the screw is flush do not tighten any more. I'm happy with the purchase. Lastly it has a very strong smell. After assembly I noticed the last information in the directions was to open and air outside for 3 days prior to assembly. My house stunk during assembly. Assemble outside if possible, air the pieces outside before assembly, or get it outside as soon as it's assembled. I read all the reviews and I was a bit concerned and figured I was either going to have a really good product or be very angry when I got it. I was happily surprised. I did not have any of the splits or chunks out etc that others experienced and I was actually surprised by how heavy the wood was and the shelves are very sturdy. I had warned my husband not to over-tighten the screws due to the splits in reviews. It took him about 20 mins to assemble. Everything lined up and worked as it should. The smell is quite strong but I opened windows on sunporch for 2 days and left cabinet open and it aired out pretty quickly. The only thing at all that I am somewhat concerned about is the lip on the doors (that make you shut one door before the other) is on the lighter side so hopefully it will stand up to use but otherwise I am very happy with the condition and total outcome. ... show more

Pretty sturdy for the price. Would recommend adding a layer of protective coat if are going to keep it outside. The metal top is pretty cheap but will do the job.
