  • Works well for grass seed, fantastic for small seeds like white clover
Color: Red
Works well with existing power tool batteries, so they are ready to use even if spreader hasn't been used in months. I have Milwaukee M18 batteries, but it is available for Dewalt and Makiita also. Works well with grass seed and saves cranking a manual one. It is fantastic for white clover. The tiny seeds are spread way too thick by most spreaders. With this one you can spread over a wide area. I covered 13000 sq ft with one pound of seed. Maybe that's too thin, but that is on me. The fact that it has two controls, the drop chute area and the motor speed allows great control. ... show more

  • Reliable Spreader That Works Great with DeWalt Batteries
Color: Yellow
I’ve used this spreader three times so far, and it does exactly what it promises. It’s fairly easy to use, and I really like the ability to adjust both the speed and the spread pattern depending on what I’m putting down. The edge guard feature is also a nice touch—it helps keep material off sidewalks and driveways. I’ve used it for fertilizer, seed, and a fertilizer/seed mix without any issues. One of the main reasons I bought it was because it runs on DeWalt batteries, which I already own, and it works flawlessly with them. Overall, a reliable and convenient tool that makes spreading much easier. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a battery-powered spreader. ... show more

  • Good for different media
Color: Yellow
I used this to spread calcium chloride in the winter and lawn fertilizer and grass seed in the spring. I works great. It has a really handy feature that will restrict the pattern to get whatever you are using to where you want it to go. A little over a quarter of an acre of spreading and I still had 2 bars left on an aftermarket dewalt battery and it will shoot fertilizer a good ten feet in a half circle pattern. I will never use a manual spreader again. ... show more

  • Cheaper, Smaller, Faster, And Easier To Use Than A Push Spreader
Color: Red
This is a great tool. Or just okay tool. Totally depends on your expectations. I was shopping to replace my push spreader, which was probably 40 years old and inherited from my father, like what most men own. Since I do not want to spend a lot of money on something I'll use two or three times a year, that will then be hanging in my way for the other 362 days of the year I looked at alternatives. This tool can sit on the shelf, instead of hanging in my way. This tool was cheaper by $30 than a push spreader of equal output. This tool uses batteries I already have. This tool requires little effort on my part to use, which means I'm more likely to use it. I have about 7,500 sf of lawn, and in my opinion, this worked just fine for this area. I was able to spread two small bags of weed and feed in a lot less time than it would have taken with a push spreader. This is because this device broadcasts the seed over a much greater area, requiring fewer "laps" of the lawn. A complaint is that whatever you're spreading will get caked up and not flow through the outlet. However, that is not the fault of the spreader. Properly break up your seed or salt or whatever, and it will flow just fine. Seed may still stop flowing, but q quick shake of the tool will resume flow and spreading. The push spreaders get clumps stuck all the time, you just don't notice because the spreader is 18" wide and when one part is caked up, the other side still flows, and we're not going to stop just to fix that. Overall, unless you're wasting every weekend and your other free time obsessing over your lawn, this tool is inexpensive, easy to store out of the way, is fast to load, easy to use, and perfect for the majority of homeowners. ... show more

  • Stopped working 2 weeks after the warranty expired
Color: Yellow
When I see reviews that say a product broke a week or two after the warranty ran out, I think to myself, “How does something like that happen so frequently?” For the first time in my life, it happened to me with this spreader. It’s not suitable to print what I thought to myself now. Haha! The nice thing about this spreader is that it uses rechargeable batteries for power tools. This gives it a lot more power compared to spreaders that use “regular” batteries (e.g., four size AA alkaline batteries). Since the wheel has more power behind it, I never had an issue with this spreader getting bogged down, unlike other battery-powered models I have used. For the price, AND TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THAT YOU MUST SUPPLY YOUR OWN BATTERY, I would have expected it to have a more solid build. I also would have expected it to last much longer than a couple of weeks after the one-year warranty expired. It was useful when it worked. I used it to spread grass seed, lawn fertilizer, ice melt on my driveway, etc. It’s not so useful now, though. ... show more

  • Extremely useful spreader
Color: Yellow
I love this hand held spreader! I pop a dewalt battery in place and I spreader weed killer and my very large hillside. I use it everywhere my drop spreader can't maneuver. Made of solid materials and compatible with my dewalt batteries. Good quality product!

  • Fantastic lawn and garden aid
Color: Yellow
This handheld power spreader is a great time saver. The flow is very adjustable and you can precisely aim where you want the granules to go. And, so much easier than turning a crank by hand. Looks sturdy and expect to last a long time. Of course you need the right battery to make it work.
