Using it for a RDWC setup should work well. Not sure if it will kink yet being so flexible. It also has an atrocious licorice smell. The smell sticks to your skin and anything it touches. Going to wash it before use.

Not made of silicone, but still very soft, pliable, and durable. I believe it's made of PVC and very similar to what Aquarium Co-Op sells. It's where I normally purchase my fish room needs, but I needed this tubing ASAP. It's matte black, dry with no coating, and does not smell of any odor. I've used it on stainless steel and plastic fittings with no issues of slippage. I've had that problem with stiffer tubing but solved it by using sandpaper on the ends of the fittings. I've also slipped it onto fittings larger than 3/16" by simply dipping the tubbing end into some very hot water for 20 seconds or so, making it stretch onto larger fittings. This is a great addition to my fish room and I'm sure you'll be satisfied with this product unless you prefer the old-school thicker and stiffer type of tubing. ... show more

Purchased to replace airlines on my 3 aquariums. All have darker backgrounds so wanted a quality black tubing. Stays soft and flexible in the aquarium. All of the airstones, connectors, valves, and suction cups help make a clean install of the airlines in the tank. I almost cant see any of it when installed on a black background. ... show more

    • Not trustworthy to stay connected

Does not securely stay attached. One line came loose and water back flowed on to the floor. Another line came loose from air pump and fish received no air. I push the line all the way onto the attachment about 70% to 80% of them remain attached. This is not satisfactory. going back to penn plax .
