This bed rail was easy to assemble and set in place. It is a sturdy, reliable, rail, that my 90 something husband has used for the last week and a half. He had been having a bit of difficulty getting up out of bed, between the extra layer of winter covers and generally reduced mobility of the elderly. This rail aids in his getting into an upright position; which is what he was most interested. Elevation adjustment for the feet and horizontal frame is good. The device is very helpful getting into and exiting the bed. However, the weak link mentioned in the headline means the device may not last long unless modified.

The legs are nice insurance if you're going to put weight on these bars to get out of bed. Feels a lot more solid than the ones that only go under the mattress. Worked well for my mother in law.

Adjustable feet and long under mattress section make this unit quite secure. If you have a heavy enough mattress, you might be comfortable without using the included safety straps. Instructions are included but could have been a bit clearer. The handle grip is good and also has height adjustments. A storage pouch for TV remote etc would have been a plus. Recommended !
