I AM IN LOVE with this specific hose from this specific vendor. Expandable hoses are a genius idea and one desperately needed in our yard, although up until this one, the engineering execution has been deplorable. We have 1/2 acre. Most of it is planted and needs irrigation. We have some of the long heavy hoses from Sam’s - some of them as much as 10 years old and they are all but indestructible. But they weigh like a million pounds and handling them is akin to bear wrestling. Hubs and I both have shoulder issues and as we get older, these hoses are just not doing it for us. I’ve been truly desperate for a 100’ hose that I can actually handle. If they aren’t super heavy, they kink like crazy. When we tried expandable hoses before, the money was basically stolen by unethical vendors selling junk product. The need for a quality expandable hose is great so I have kept looking. This one says just about all the same things that they all do, but it has one overriding plus: the reviews that relate exceptional customer service if the customer DID have a problem. With that in mind, I bit the bullet and paid $80 for a 3.5 pound, 100’ expanding hose. Even when it’s full of water, I can carry the entire length of the hose in one hand. It never kinks. It doesn’t have to be wound or wrapped. When not in use, this one lives quickly plopped into a nursery pot. We have had the driest April I can remember in a while and it’s been used a lot in the 1 month we have had it. There has never been one single issue with anything about it. It has a built in brass shutoff on the end, which is a freaking GENIUS value added. I use a good quality spray head with a fire hose style shutoff but the one on the end of the hose is perfect to control water pressure when it’s hooked to a sprinkler or an irrigation system. I don’t mind dragging it out or, perhaps most importantly, putting it away. This hose comes with a lifetime guarantee. So do some others, but that thing only counts if the company actually honors it. Reviews for other hoses are filled with complaints about how crappy they are and how the companies didn’t stand behind the product. Reviews for THIS hose commonly state that the buyers who needed service were satisfied with the company’s response. That’s the part that convinced me to pay WAY more for this product than most regular water hoses cost. As I said, it’s early in the season but so far this is one of the best tools in my garden. I’ve shared the link on most of my FB gardening and homesteading pages and reviewed it for the other members. I’m reasonably confident that, should the longevity of this hose be as disappointing as the others were, the company will work with me. Hoping against hope that what actually happens is that it continues to perform and I continue to love it. The media could not be loaded. Brand new and the hose already has a leak. I may edit my review once they honor the “lifetime warranty” and product is acceptable. So far, not impressed with product. Update: The reason I bought this hose was because of the lifetime warranty. I’ve owned several expandable hose before and while convenient and compact, they all don’t hold up equally. After my new out of the bag experience with a leaky hose, I contacted customer service and they sent a new one within days. I have to give the customer service a 5 star review. The J&B 100ft. expandable hose has been a slam dunk for me! I have had a couple of different brands of expandable hose at my house (we have a large backyard area with plants along the entire border and a pool in the center) and the J&B hose is by far the best I have tried. The hose has a great weight to it and you can definitely feel the quality in their construction. The all brass fittings and the ball valve at the end is a great feature. The exterior sheath stands out as exceptional for its durability even when being dragged across rough brick pavers by kids (other brands I have tried fray and get really ratty looking after only a few weeks). The real value comes in the customer service from J&B itself. Unfortunately my hose did end up with a leak (definitely not uncommon with this type of hose, just as a matter of fact and the leak was non-catastrophic so I was still able to use the hose) but my email to J&B about a warranty claim was responded to within 24 hrs (by John of J&B, himself!). After sending a quick picture/ video of the issue, my new hose is on its way! Not having to shell out for another hose is beyond invaluable and the customer service at J&B is truly second-to-none. I highly recommend the J&B hose; just buy it, you will thank me later. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Lasted 2.5 years before the interior seam/lining was compromised and leaked profusely through the hose itself, near the spigot head (NOT a connective point). The description indicates "solid 3/4 brass connectors". One can reasonably infer that the hose has a 3/4" inner diameter, or at least close to it. If both ends of the hose didn't have a flow restrictor with an opening prox 1/3 of the size of the brass connectors, that would be the case. No where did the listing mention a flow restrictor, nor did any of the reviews. This obvious act of misleading the customer gets me to think, what else are they misleading me about???? Clearly the marketing dept realized that if they listed the flow restrictor and the actual flow rate or size of the restrictor they would not sell the product. Perhaps this is done so the expand and retract capability of the hose will work correctly, I don't know. If that is the case, they should list it. UGH, I got "China'd" again. I give it 2 stars because: 1- It is an expandable hose. 2- It is light weight. I can't use it for the purpose I bought it. Pressure washers, at least real ones, rely more on water flow rate than amount of pressure. I will keep it as it is good for the garden and I will buy a better, non expandible hose for the pressure washer. ... show more
